"As with my previous reviews in October, I should be on honeymoon in Tenerife/Majorca/Aberystwyth, but with Covid and the local lockdown we had to stay local. This is week 2 and we again ventured just 20 miles from home to the Glan Aber in Betws-y-coed. Yet again, we found a fantastic place to stay and a great set of people running the place. The place is so clean, tidy and welcoming and during this quiet time it was good to see that they were maintaing the place to retain the high standards throughout. We upgraded from a standard room to the Glan Aber Suite, which definitely had the wow factor for our honeymoon. It was spacious, very well decorated and had everything we needed. We had noticed that they had an offer on for a steak meal for 2 at only £20, some venues would offer this with a drop in weight on the steak, but no ours were both cooked how we liked and with a pepper sauce created by a chef and not a sauce mix! The meal and the breakfast we had in the morning were both delicious, plentiful and well presented. The bar was welcoming and had a range of beers, wines, spirits and cask beers. It's a tough time for everyone at this moment in time in hospitality and so to go to a place where everyone is still upbeat and have a smile rather than a false smile it's a credit to them. Although it was just a one night stay, we wish it could of been longer."

5 of us went for dinner there this evening. The staff were rushed off their feet and still managed to bring us excellent food, quickly and with a smile. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were amazing, and friendly and pleasant and helpful. Well done. xx

Very good pub grub. The braised beef with horseradish mash is absolutely delicious. So tender and tasty falls apart just like you want it to. Had it two weeks in a row now and it was beautiful both times. Friends who have been have also loved the food. The chef (Damo) is a real asset to the Glan Aber and the serving bar staff are very friendly and attentive. They also sell my favourite Merywen Blood Orange gin! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Betws.

My friend and I stayed here last night we stayed in room 30. Which had lots of space, very comfortable beds, nice bathroom with a powerful shower and plenty of toiletries. All the staff we came in contact with were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. We had dinner last night and breakfast this morning and both were delicious and plentiful. The hotel is right in the heart of Betws Y Coed and has free parking. This is the second time we have stayed in the hotel and we will definitely book again.

Stayed here with my partner and puppy last week for 2 nights. We ate in the bar area both nights (even though we had intended to go somewhere else the 2nd night but enjoyed it so much decided to eat there again). The bar had a good variety of drinks and if you like gin we would strongly recommend you try the one made by one of the staff! For us though the biggest plus was the staff they were so friendly, helpful and generally made us feel very welcome. We were anxious taking the dog away for the first time but we needn't have worried he was treated like royalty! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if visiting the area.

I walked into this hotel for a pre-booked 2 day stay, and walked straight out again. To say it was grubby, would be generous. The pics on the hotel 's website are utterly misrepresentative. The hotel still took the full cost of our booking without notice or authorization. Currently being contested by our bank. As another reviewer has stated, 'dishonest '. The signage outside Glan Aber Hotel has three stars on it. I have since contacted the AA and VisitEngland/Scotland/Wales (the only two bodies officially authorised to grade hotels in the UK). Glan Aber Hotel is not on the VisitWales website, and neither has the AA granted the hotel a three star rating. Glan Aber appear to have awarded thems...

"So , we ate here because we come to BYC alot have only ever had a drink in here so decided to go for our anniversary my partners birthday too,, we were shown to our table I ordered a soda (large one) a bottle of red wine,, it came then I drank the 'soda ' it was lemonade !! I 'm allergic to aspartame penelalanine I knew immediately what it was,,, I get a racing heart this mix up upset me , I remained calm however I was upset by this hugely as I 've avoided a reaction for years she had re-read it back to me so I thought she had this right,, then we ordered our meal the starter came it was OK then our main arrived I specifically asked for no sauces on my partners salt pepper burger it was smothered in sauce salad I said just the chicken the cheeses bacon nothing else ! I had ordered the fajitas they came with ice cold red peppers in a separate dish ? How vile freezing red pepper for me yo put on warm fajitas, strange it diddnt come with fries either I had to order these separately they never made it to the table she 'd forgotten I cancelled them it just wasn 't worth the wait,,, we were asked if everything was OK.... no was my answer it was a disaster from start to end, we got chatting to the lad in the table next to us, he was working away he 'd waited half a hour for a pint of beer, he aske us for our salt pepper saying if he asked the waitress he 'd be there till **** next Monday! You get the gist, regarding my allergies I have 'ventricular ectopics ' triggered by aspartame it was present in the lemonade I was given however I didn 't intake enough to trigger this ...it could of thou ! Then after complaining they took £3 off the bill ! £3 for the toppings on his burger ,, it cost £71.00 still, I was thoroughly deflated, fed up , annoyed ! It was after all my partners birthday our anniversary we tried to not let it dictate the events of our evening,, however it felt rubbish so here we are !!"
