"My wife and I were staying in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin for a week. After getting settled in at the Pension Freiraum and having a few adult beverages we ventured out to see the neighborhood. We discovered a great Indian restaurant called the Restaurant GOA II on Gleimstrasse not far from our pension. We both ordered the Tandori chicken with yellow rice which was very good.. A half liter of Bitburger beer cost only 2.90 Euros which is fantastic compared to Ireland's standards. The manager of the restaurant Tariq was very nice to us and really made us feel welcome.Based upon our good experience the first time we went back the next night. We both had the lamb (which really tasted like mutton) but it was O.K, not great. The service however was great. Our server was Rajinder. He did an excellent job waiting on us. We returned the following night for the third time and had the pleasure of having Cristina as our server who was equally as good as Rajinder. We had the Tandori chicken again, just as delicious as the first night. Cristina also bent over backwards to make sure our visit and food were enjoyable. When we return to Berlin we plan on eating here again. The food and service are very good. It's nice to be valued as a customer when you go out to a restaurant for dinner.M. Greg MillerMillersville, Pennsylvania, USA"

the food maybe cheap and the service ok, but this is not indian food, but rather food which may resemble indian food to people who never were in india (or in a real indian restaurant). recommendation: eat there only when you are really hungry.

Delicious food, huge variety, super quick and kind service and the prices are more than fair. We have been enjoying the GOA II for more than five years now and can really recommend it. Don't be irritated by the calm and polite staff, they are so nice.

By incident I came to this restaurant and I was very positively surprised about the friendlyness of the staff and the variety of the Indian food, which differs from all other typical menus. The meal was tasty and so I can recommend it to other visitors.

I really enjoyed the place. Stuff was very nice, but a little bit lazy (we were waiting for a waitres about 20 min, and the restaurante was empty). portions are big, but food could be more spicy. Meat was a little bit raw unfortunately. And coconut soup is with coconut powder. Ver carta

I never try Indian dish before, but it turns out i like it after i discover this restaurant. I could never get enough of this place, I always come here at least once a week for lunch since it is really near my office. I almost try every menu here, and all of them taste great. also huge portion and one important thing would be the price is really cheap and affordable.

In Prenzlauer Berg, on Gleimstrasse, near Schoenhauser Allee U & S Bahn stations, is this wonderful family-run Indian cuisine restaurant with wonderful food and service, eat inside or outside. The Mangosekt ['champaign") is a great way to start the meal {and mango liqueur to end it.) Inexpensive, with luncheon specials even more inexpensive, and every other Sunday (at least for now) a low-priced buffet. Open til 11 pm as well. Our local restaurant whenever we are in Berlin.

I have only eaten here once during this stay in Berlin, but I plan to return several times before I leave. I ordered the lamb with okra and it was cooked to perfection. The menu in this restaurant is, as is the case with most Indian style restaurants, impressively detailed and many dishes are offered. The restaurant was not filled when I was there so the meal came quickly. I found that the waiter was efficient but not friendly, as is perhaps the custom in their part of the world. I will certainly visit this restaurant again, just to enjoy the okra and some other lamb dishes. Ver carta

Didn't really enjoy the food. There was no flavour, no spices, no technique. It looked like a bit of chicken plomped in curry sauce, put in the microwave for a couple of minutes before being served. My partner and I ordered something different to each other and it seriously looked the same but with different sauce. The food when it came out was not served hot/sizzling hot hence the microwave comment. The restaurant wasn't even busy so I'm not too sure why the food would be made or served in such a manner. Anyways, I am of Indian heritage and this is not authentic Indian food. If you want a cheap eat, you get what you pay for. If you want authentic Indian, go elsewhere!

Came for dinner having failed to check TA - big mistake. This is the poorest Indian food I've had in a long time. The so-called Tandoori food has never been near a Tandoori oven, and I really don't believe they have such a thing here. Putting stewed food on a sizzling hot plate does NOT make it Tandoori. The Duck dish promoted as a speciality was a dreadful mish-mash of pre-cooked sliced duck breast discs in a simply dreadful sauce of no particular flavour, with a melange of mediocre vegetables added. You could have any sort of meat in this sauce by the way - none of it is actually cooked IN the sauce for any length of time. There are mediocre Indian breads and a fairly poor wine list, and I...
