"The place was nice, the starters were good while the spaghetti with clams were a bit disappointing as they were completely separate and looked more like spaghetti with oil with a few clams in the middle. The dining room staff could be seen in a hurry to leave as they started to collect the plates while some of us were still finishing their meals. Furthermore, asking us if we wanted a dessert, we were told that the chocolate cake was not available, coincidentally the only dessert that required a few minutes to cook and prepare."

"If you are in Taormina, you need to eat here. We were in town for two days, and each night we came here. The manager and staff are very kind and open to sharing Sicilian and Catania cuisine, not just tourist dishes. We asked them how we should prepare this whole fish, and the manager offered up suggestions. The food was delicious. This place is a treasure!"

"Food: good caponata but the tuna steak was disappointing and not cooked very well. The side was underwhelming too (1 potato and 1 brocoli). Service was OK, but we had to remind the waitress who forgot 1 starter. The waiter seemed friendlier. "Edited review-Limted menu for vegans in a vegetarian restaurant and on the night we went there were no main dishes available. 22 euros for pasta dish is very expensive )Which were all pasta dishes anyway We were not told until we had ordered drinks which we thought very bad as we would have gone somewhere else. We wanted dinner and drinks together. Later found out via the reply below that the chef had an accident. HOW were we to know?! We could not be understanding if we were not told. Waitress just said the chef had an incident with the pasta so it was not available. I really don't see why other options could not have been put together with other ingredients. Or things already prepared earlier or the night before. There was someone in the kitchen preparing the brushetta which was all that was offered. He could have done some other dishes maybe. "Unfortunately, I didn’t like it, the prices don’t correspond to the small portions, the pasta is cold with sardines, or rather, probably half a sardine, or rather guess what it was in this dish, the fries had no salt at all, pizza, well, I would call it a thin crust with filling, alas ,disappointment. "We chose this place because it was a little off-centre from the main street and we were able to enjoy an excellent appetizer of cured meats and cheeses with orange marmalade and honey. Pasta alla norma and spaghetti with sardines. Excellent cuisine and prices in relation to the location. "My friend said “you can give them zero, if that’s possible”. Overpriced for the low quality food. Super touristy. Menu caters to the American palate. Hard bread. Service isn’t the best. Had to open our own bottle of water and pour it. Wine is a house wine at best. At the end we were served a yellow after dinner drink “I wish they never brought it” -my friend. Lol. When we saw that it was on the main street, we were extremely reluctant but with over a thousand reviews averaging 4.4 stars, we tried it anyways. Should have trusted our instincts. "Having eaten on January 6, therefore out of season, very disappointed with the dishes: plates of pasta not very generous, plate of prawns for 18 euros with only 4 prawns (and absolutely nothing else! , overcooked and poorly washed. Only the red tuna dish enhances the whole a little, but a very thin piece which makes pink cooking impossible. Basically, we came out hungry and went to get dessert somewhere else. "AVOID. This is an awful place, the worst latte/coffee in Taormina in my experience. They don't even use fresh milk, croissants not fresh either. This left me feel so sickly and nauseated. Have been here for 3 weeks and this was by far the worst coffee. They also charge double at 5 euros Vs 2.50 in the side streets and a few meters down) for the latte machiatto. I ended up walking and then going to Excelsior Hotel for another latte to get the awful long life milk taste out of my mouth and paid the same price, but got much better service, better latte with real milk and lovely biscuits too. Great lattes/coffee can be found in the five star hotels, Osterica just a few metres down, a place right across Bam Bam Bar and also Cafe Zerrafno (I think it is called). I think the 5 star reviews are mainly from American tourists whoms palate/life experiences/ idea of quality differs to those from Europe/Asia/Middle East. "A beautiful view while eating the food is really a highlight! Unfortunately not child-friendly! Our daughter was playing with the sugar packets. The boss ordered the sugar packets to be taken away from our daughter in front of everyone who asked service questions! Our daughter sat quietly in her seat throughout the entire stay and wasn't loud! Furthermore, our daughter (1.5 years old) also paid the cover price, even though she ate with me and didn't have her own portion! Unfortunately, we have never experienced anything like this! Kid-friendliness: 1/5 stars"

"Ottimo consiglio di un amico. Ristorante di famiglia da 3 generazioni organizzati con un personale molto preparato ed accogliente. Titolari attenti all' ospitalità e alla qualità del prodotto. Ho ritrovato la vera e verace cucina siciliana con una sfumatura di innovazione, avrei voluto provare tutti i piatti ma assicuro porzioni generose. Provate i cannolicchi (piccoli cannoli) prodotti dalla mamma dei titolari, FANTASTICI!!!!!!!..... diventerà un nuovo mio punto di riferimento."

"Con mia moglie siamo in Sicilia per un tour della zone orientali. Ci troviamo a Taormina e, questa sera, abbiamo scelto questo locale. Premetto che sono celiaco. Nessun problema per il primo che, abbinato al condimento di gambero rosso e crema di pistacchio a menu, era assolutamente perfetto! .....come da tempo non ticordavo. Ho piacevolmente riscontrato una altissima qualità negli alimenti e nella loro preparazione. Grande professionalità, serietà e competenza da parte del personale tutto. "We booked a Suite with a balcony, but the room we got couldn 't have been more different from the pictures. The pictures showed a split level room with a living area on the lower floor including a sofa and a desk then a balcony. The actual room (room 7) instead had a corridor with a bath in the corner (very strange) that opened to a balcony. Then a mezzanine above the corridor with a bed, which had no windows or any kind of natural light. There was no sofa, no desk and no separate living space, hence definitely not a 'suite '. When we asked the hotel about this they said that some rooms were indeed better than others and that the rooms in the pictures were reserved for guests who booked directly with the hotel and not available via booking websites etc. However these are the very photos they are using to advertise these rooms on those sites. Other annoying things made this a very sub par stay, such as no ability to turn off the lights on the balcony meaning the rooms were bright all night long, no coffee making facilities in the room, and a general wear and tear for all the furniture in the room."

"We went to this Osteria al Duomo on the recommendation of our Host. The owner welcomed us by offering us two glasses of sparkling wine for an aperitif (offered by the house). We had a fried fish and a tagliolini with prawns and pistachio, both good, but the fried fish had something more than the tagliolino. Generous portions. In the end we had 2 cannoli and 1 coffee. Before paying the bill we were offered two limoncellos. In total we spent €60. Recommended for those who visit Taormina and want to eat well without spending too much."

"Siamo venuti in questo posto durante la nostra vacanza e devo dire che ci siamo sentiti in famiglia da subito. Atmosfera romantica e familiare, posto fine ed elegante esattamente come le titolari, in particolare la signora Cristina che ci ha accolto con professionalità e cordialità. Abbiamo assaggiato due primi (pasta alla norma e pasta alla siciliana)... Uno più buono dell'altro. Complimenti davvero per la gestione e per l'amore che mettete nel vostro lavoro. Lo consiglieremo ai nostri amici che verranno a Taormina e ci torneremo sicuramente. Un abbraccio grosso dalla Puglia da Marco e Tiziana (Ps i ragazzi consigliati da Antonio del b&b di Catania). "Sono venuto presso il vostro ristorante per due sere dal momento che la prima sera ho mangiato in modo ottimo, mentre durante la seconda il servizio ha lasciato un po' a desiderare... Consigliatissime le costolette d'agnello e la pasta aglio olio e peperoncino come anche le tagliatelle gamberi e pistacchio Un po' meno consigliato la pasta col tonno Vi rende onore di inserire nel coperto una bruschetta di ottima qualità e sapore e per il dopocena del liquore alla mandorla Per chiunque legga questo commento... corrette dal Baccanale, magari dovrete un po' sollecitare la velocità del servizio, ma mangerete bene qualsiasi cosa voi prenderete"
