Schwarzes Cafe Vierundzwanzig Hours Open

Great breakfast, But didnt accept Pos payment. The never mentioned that before so we weren't prepared for that........

We chose this place because we wanted something typically German and weren't disappointed. The restaurant was busing on a Tuesday evening with mostly German guests and several groups. Service was excellent, food good as was the beer. Would recommend.

We came for an early dinner. No problem walking in and getting a table (the crowds must be a later-night thing). Our food was great. Daughter and husband had Wiener schnitzel and I had Serviettenknoedel. It was super good with its mushroom cream sauce. Portions weren't huge, but it was enough to fill you up.

Milking the nostalgia coin of the past to the maximum I wonder what Bowie would think about the place now i.e. demanding reservations several days in advance for a **** casual drink. The place should be a shrine to two 20th century icons but instead it 's a perversion of punk and well past its sell by date. They are trying to cultivate an 'exclusive ' vibe but it 's backfiring.

Visited five times over last 15yrs, this time on a busy Weds night. Short wait for table whilst regulars or friends of the staff given tables first. Food menu choice very poor and expensive, though large portions. Service slow staff will ignore you if they can and chat to their mates. Schwarzes is usually a must do visit when we go to Berlin but sadly no longer. Feels like a private members club for those who meet a certain look or know the staff.

Now two of our former breakfast locals (brel and no one) have closed and it was necessary to find a new locality. by coincidence we have passed the black caffe and seen an extensive breakfast card. it is a cult place and after certificate as well as 25 years ago. it was opened in 1977 and it is a cafe with 24 hours open with exception.
