"We ate at St. John in Clerkenwell twenty years ago and couldn't see what it was about. We thought we'd try again as we were in the neighborhood of the Maltby Street branch. We ordered lamb that was so raw that we could not get our knives through them, while we would normally order meat rarely, this was simply unusable, so we had to send it back. The second time around them did not seem like the meat was cooked evenly. Our friend ordered the lemon sole, which was much more beautiful and well cooked, and the vegetable sides were beautiful. But we will not go back for a third visit."

My husband and I were in London for our 6 year anniversary and had heard about this place. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent. Service was great and the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. It was simply amazing.

The worst service we have experienced in a long time. It ruined our evening. The manager has not made us known as guests and our server has dropped 2 hours. We had to ask for each article several times from the beginning to the end. It was so laborious. The food is delicious, but warm wine, long waits for water and more glasses and then desert and then the bill took its toll. The toilet is not on the grounds either. Nothing like the other St. John. We will certainly not return. The manager asked me to email my concerns and as expected, she ignored my email.
