"Considering we were headed to the Italy the following day, I was amused (and a bit confused) when our local host brought us to dinner at Padellino. That being said, it was a fun Italian meal complete with good food, wine and excellent company. There are two sections of the restaurant and our large group occupied half of the back dining room which became a semi-private space. While most of our group ordered Antipasti, soup and salad, I just focused on my entree, a baked pasta dish (Penne Paesana mit Fleischsoße und Béchamelsoße). The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with an interesting mix of art and seating. The focal point of the main dining room is wood beams and a series of masks on one wall. Fitting since we were there during Carnival season. Service was fine and when we had one hiccup (they prepared the wrong fish dish for a couple of our diners), they realized the mistake prior to serving the meal and corrected it quickly. While I prefer to enjoy local cuisine when I travel, this was a good option in the old city. Rating is really 3-1/2 stars."

"Im hinteren Teil von Ettlingen West erwartet man eine kleine Oase wie das "Rosine" fast nicht. Tatsächlich ist dort aber speziell im Sommer ein sehr schöner Biergarten vorzufinden. Hier kann man abends nach der Arbeit gut vom Alltagsstress Luft holen und noch dazu: Sehr gut und reichlich essen. Es gibt verschiedene Schnitzelvarianten, die Portionen sind groß. In der Karte wird extra darauf hingewiesen, dass die Schnitzel selbst gemacht und paniert werden, wie es sich für ordentliche Schnitzel gehört. Die Panade sah auch entsprechend aus lecker aus. Ich hatte mich an diesem Tag aber für eine vegetarische Variante entschieden und habe korsse Röstiecken mit Champignons gegessen. Auch diese Variante (für Vegetarier empfehlenswert) war sehr lecker und mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet. Probiert es aus, könnte euer neuer Lieblingsbiergarten werden. Der Service war nett und zuvorkommend. Lange warten mussten wir an diesem Samstag-Mittag auch nicht, obwohl der Außenbereich gut besucht war."

"I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately they weren't fulfilled. First of all, the venue itself. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the main room has a lot of reverb, making it very difficult to have conversations. The outside seating is nice, but basic. We decided to sit outside, at the downside, we didn't really have the feeling that the waitresses showed up often enough. We had a round of drinks to start out with, which were watery, small and pricy. Not a good combination. Afterwards we ordered starters and main courses. The appetizers were good, but not exceptional. Besonders die auf der Wochenkarte vorgeschlagenen Zucchiniröllchen waren hervorragend. Trotz des Essens nur 3 Sterne, da die Atmosphäre im Lokal selbst etwas triest war, zudem gibt es einige Tische, die ein bisschen im Dunkeln stehen. Nachdem wir dann keinen Ouzo wollten, ließ man uns links liegen und wir mussten sehr lange auf die Rechnung warten. Das hat den Eindruck sehr getrübt."
