"For our starter, we had the delicious bread served with oil and hummus, which everyone loved. My wife ordered the banana blossom "fish" and chips, and she described it as beautifully crispy. I opted for the quinoa burger, which came with perfect chips and was bursting with flavor. The staff was attentive and catered to all our needs. The only suggestion I have is to provide a changing mat in the men's restroom, as my wife had to handle all the diaper changes. Having visited The Lazy Fox, The Vineyard, and now The Gun, it's clear that elite pubs serve fantastic food!"

beautiful country pub, with a lot of character and friendly staff. beautiful garden space for the colder, damper days and a garden with views for the warmer, sunny days. good menu with vegetarian options and an in-house pizza oven. many parking spaces, including an electric vehicle charging point. a part of the elite pubs.

Had an excellent Sunday lunch here, food was top notch and the service was good. Sadly, a large party with no social manners or respect for other diners came in with a badly behaved toddler, so we swiftly finished our lunch and left. (Obviously no fault of the pub! . We’ll definitely go back…but this time we’ll make sure we have a table thats well clear of any large party tables. Ver carta

10 out of 10. first experience was from friendly and helpful staff, a beautiful building and some amazing eating. I won't lie, I wanted to take a photo of my king linguine prawn, but thought I'd just have a quick taste first. everything you would get was a photo of an empty bowl! I will be back, so I will try to keep a stronger solution for a photo next time. for a pub it is an amazing place. book a table and enjoy.

We received a warm welcome upon our arrival. I went with a few friends, and we ordered a variety of starters, all of which were beautifully presented and delicious. For our main course, we all chose the duck, which was quite tasty. Unfortunately, we didn't have room for dessert, so we'll definitely need to come back for that. They have a lovely seating area in the garden, but it was too cold to sit outside during our visit; hopefully, we'll be able to enjoy it next time.

"We arrived on Friday evening at about 7.15 pm hoping for dinner. We were immediately greeted by the young lady behind the bar, who said that of course we could have dinner. Actually, it became obvious that there was no problem as there wasn 't anybody else in the dining section. When we commented on the lack of diners, she rather strangely said that there were usually more customers for dinner during the week than the weekends. We wondered why? There is a good pub menu and I went for the haddock pie and he decided on bangers and mash. The dining section is quirkily decorated, which is rather nice, but there does not appear to be any heating, and we were a bit chilly. The food looked good on arrival, and the chef obviously knows how to do things properly, in that there was hard boiled egg in the fish pie and the bangers came with an extra small jug of gravy. I was hoping for a lovely creamy fish pie with real mashed potatoes and fresh veg, and he was hoping for lovely sausages and real mashed potatoes. But the pie was really very dry and not very taseful, and although his sausages were delicious (locally sourced) we both thought that the mash was probably smash i.e. out of a packet. Since we had not much enjoyed the main course, we thought we would try puddings, and I ordered the sticky toffee pudding and he had apple crumble. His crumble was good, and the sticky toffee sauce was OK, but poured over a very ordinary piece of sponge. The wine per glass is very reasonably priced which is perhaps why there is nothing very special about it. There have been other reviews praising the food, but we were disappointed. . Some parts of the evening were good, but other parts were definitely not hence my title. If the food had not been so dry, we would have added another star."
