This restaurant is excellent, serving fresh and high-quality dishes with beautiful presentation. It's worth considering making a reservation.

The food was mediocre and the atmosphere was poor. The restaurant is part of the hotel. I had the steak and it was decent, but the gravy was overflowing and the bark was a bit tough. Overall, it was just okay.

We arrived in Portree quite late on a Saturday evening and given that most of the places weren’t taking people after 9pm, we were happy to find this place. It’s not super fancy but the service was good and the staff friendly. Meal was standard pub food and my husband and I both enjoyed our scampi chips/fish and chips. Had some lovely Skye ale to go with it and dessert after, which was also delicious. We left stuffed and very happy!

I had an incredible seafood platter in October at this restaurant! It was a feast with a beautiful view of the seaside, making for a wonderful meal after a day of exploring magical Skye. I tried a new favorite, Cider, and ended the meal with a delicious sherbert and Irish coffee. I highly recommend making reservations. The convenience of being able to climb upstairs to my Royal Hotel room with an excellent view of the harbor was an added bonus. Ver carta

The restaurant offered a variety of typical dishes expected to be found in Scotland. The soup could be thickened slightly to give it a creamy texture. The garlic mushroom was uniquely prepared with two slices of garlic bread topped with stir-fried mushrooms. The battered fish chips looked appetizing when presented but when flipped over there were burnt bits. Similarly, the creamy chicken dish looked good when presented but some of the meat did not taste fresh.

It is nearly impossible to find a place to eat in Portree without a reservation, but we were fortunate enough to snag a table at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the staff were slow and seemed uninterested. They got our drinks order wrong, forgot my husband's soup which he never received, and neglected to put in our main course order until we inquired multiple times about the delay. After we lodged a complaint, they deducted the cost of the starters and drinks from our bill. Despite the good food, the service from the staff was downright terrible.

We had a reservation and arrived on time at the Tianavaig restaurant. We were seated at our table and given menus. The waitress told us she would be back shortly to take our drink orders, but after twenty minutes, we still hadn't received any service. I had to find a waitress myself and inquire about why the fish and chips were not on the menu we were given. The response was that it was only available in the bar, which contradicted what was stated on the website menu. Additionally, the prices were higher than what was listed online.
