"This is the worst restaurant I have been to in a long time. The food was disgusting, I even found a hair in it. The coffee was terrible and the atmosphere was unpleasant with foreign smokers staring at me. The owners handled the situation poorly and the wife even threatened me. The young waiter did not speak English well and was rude, even smoking inside despite my request for him to go outside. The manager, Hasbi, was rude and his management style was terrible. I advise everyone to avoid this place."

"We travelled a long way specifically to come to this café and it was great. We were able to sit outside as it was a nice day. I hope we'll be able to visit again as it was so good. Staff were lovely, food was delicious. Full English for him, Classic American for me which was three American pancakes, two sausage patties, crispy bacon, two hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and maple syrup on the side. I added fresh fruit which was banana, strawberries and blueberries. The bottom of one of my pancakes was burnt but I didn't care enough to do anything about it. I feel sure it would have been handled well had I complained. He loved his food: two sausages, two bacon, beans (which he swapped for extra tomatoes), tomatoes, bubble and squeak, two eggs, black pudding, white pudding, mushrooms and two slices of toast and butter. If we go again, he'll have the small breakfast and add bits (which will make it quite expensive) as it was really too much. He thought the cappuccino was good and he's pretty fussy. Highly recommended!"

"Since Indian Orchid moved to a new location a few years ago they are within walking distance of our home. This year, during the pandemic, we have dined there a few times, and also had several meal deliveries during lockdown. A comment on dining in: during the August 'Eat Out ' promotion the restaurant was packed. They did observe the sanitizing, hand washing etc rules, but I thought the tables were as close together as before the pandemic, so we preferred take away meals after that. The menu is wide ranging with all the usual Indian favourites, but you also find some more unusual dishes. Aloo Tokri Chaat and crispy bhindi are some examples from the starter menu, as is the vegetable Garhwali masala main dish. Some of their dhals are also excellent, especially tadka dhal and the Hyderabadi dhal. We became vegetarian a couple of years ago, so cannot comment on the non veg food. Flavours vary according to the dish, as everything is cooked fresh to order. The odd dish is a little bit oily for our liking, but that is quite are. Three plates plus nan are usually more than enough for two of us, and we have to take a doggy bag home. If we order four dishes for home delivery we can actually have two dinners, so the price works out to be fairly moderate, usually between GBP25 and GBP40 if no alcohol is involved. Service is always pleasant and obliging. A good place to have in the local area!"

"Average at best I'm afraid. The butter chicken was OK, wasn't a sweet mess like some places but it also wasn't the indulgent spice taste we like. The chicken Tikka was again OK and I'm pretty sure one of the pieces was on the verge of being undercooked. The Chicken Biryani was also not up to scratch. I understand the desire to be different to stand out but none of the dishes were to our taste."

"Went in as we believed it would be a nice easy visit although we were thoroughly disappointed. Our “coffee crunch” milkshake was just milkey cold coffee (no crunch) and nothing you couldn’t make at home for even cheaper than £6.50. Then came the “berry smoothie” which although the colour would deceive you into thinking it was full of seasonal berries the drink just tasted like bananas and coconut milk (as it was probably the main ingredient unfortunately). Again, it was nothing that different and you could definitely make it at home with any generic Aldi blender. Would not recommend paying the extortionate prices for mediocre at best food!!"

"Took my granddaughters there today as an end of school holiday treat. Our first visit and will definitely go back. We did have to wait about half hour, but we were told when we ordered. It was lunch time and very busy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Had lots of coloured pencil pots, but nothing for the kids to draw on, so they got a bit restless waiting. Excellent menu and the pastries and gateaux to die for."

"Starting with the juice, it was fresh and mixed. The main course consisted of a perfectly cooked poached egg with smoked salmon, and the yolk was just right. There were three choices of bread available. For dessert, I had the unique circular cheesecake served with fresh fruit. The only drawbacks were the unexciting decor and the fact that the restaurant is kosher and does not serve meat. Overall, I loved the food despite having to navigate steep stairs to reach the restroom."

"Today, I visited a restaurant/cafe and left feeling extremely angry and upset. I cannot begin to describe my experience. We ordered coffee and some fries, as we had also bought some pastries. The waitress, named Rosemary, questioned why we were only ordering coffees and fries during lunch hour when there were other people waiting for a table. I was shocked and couldn't understand why I had to order more than what I wanted in order to sit there. I asked if there was a policy that we weren't aware of, but instead, she spoke down to us and said that we could only order coffees and fries to sit down, questioning why we weren't ordering anything more. At this point, I couldn't understand why I couldn't just order a water since I was a paying customer. She completely embarrassed us in front of other customers who were already seated. We reluctantly agreed to add some toast to our order, even though we weren't hungry, but she then informed us that we couldn't order toast during lunch hours. With an attitude, she said she would serve us anyway. Not only did she talk down to us, but she also discriminated against us. I was with a friend and my two-year-old baby. In the end, we decided to cancel our order and leave. I will never return to this place with a staff member (Rosemary) who has no respect and speaks to customers in such a disrespectful manner. It is unacceptable for a staff member to treat paying customers this way. This restaurant really needs to train their staff on how to show respect. I am shocked at how a staff member can pressure customers to order more food and have such disrespectful manners."

"I popped in for lunch and ordered a starter and a main. I waited ages for my starter which never arrived... eventually when my food did arrive it was the main course. They took back my mains and finally brought me the starter of spring rolls, which was absolutely delicious. My main course of mushroom ravioli was a little bit too rich and a bit too heavy on the tomato sauce that I couldn't taste mushroom. The staff were smoking outside so there was a waft of cigarette smoke, which is a shame. Other than that the staff were friendly."

"I cannot recommend this place even though I wish I could. Nice setting and the service was good. They push the fact that the ingredients are from specific suppliers e.g they use the same sausages as Gordon Ramsay. However the food does not live upto the hype. The full English is a sizeable plate but the streaky bacon has obviously been slow cooked so the fat has not rendered out and so you are left with a plate of this pieces of fat. While the egss are tasty using canned mushrooms is not. The chorizo hash is not a hash at all. It is small cubes of potatoes fried with a few pieces of over cooked chorizo added on the dish, very disappointing. The bill came with a tip already added which should never happen unless you are a larger table. Lastly, refused to take a Scottish £20 note...sadly this is still a reality in some places...there must be better places around to eat"

"We were looking for a venue to host our baby's christening party. My wife found this gem when looking, at first we were a bit skeptical because a speciality Goa restaurant in London seemed to sound more like one of the many restaurants, masquerading as an Indian restaurant serving Goan dishes (aloo vindaloo is not Goan We were in for a pleasant surprise! Flames is a family run restaurant with a great team at its helm. Sachin kept us posted at all times, adviced us on what we could expect, patiently heard what we did not want, in short the experience was thoroughly professional with a very good personal touch. On the day itself, the food was delicious (starters mince cutlets the cylindrical ones ; , leg of tandoori chicken, crispy veg., veg. samosa, mains veg caldin, chana masala, pork vindaloo, chicken xacuti, goan pulao, tossed salad, russian salad, desert fruit trifle , service impeccable, ambience fantastic, great music and very happy guests. We highly recommend this restaurant to those who have been to Goa and have had authentic Goan food and also to those who have never had but would like to try. You will not be disappointed. Sachin, his wife and their team provided us with the perfect Goan dining experience away from Goa. Thanks very much Flames, you rock!"

"I went to this restaurant with my work colleagues. The interior of the place was nice, but it is located on the corner of a row of slightly worn-out shops. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and well-dressed. I ordered a wrap, which was delicious and cost about £8. However, the only downside was the lady who I believe is the owner. She loudly and rudely started instructing the staff to clean up, which made us feel like we were being inconvenienced by her behavior. It seemed like she was being a bit tyrannical. It was uncomfortable to see her scolding the staff in the dining area. Overall, I think the management was lacking in professionalism. We even considered leaving as we felt like we were in the way. Additionally, seeing the delivery of produce being brought in and stacked against a wall made it seem like we had arrived before the main event. Despite these issues, I may still consider getting takeaway from here as the food was good enough."

"eating is delicious and the cook, owners and team know what they do. this can be the best restaurant in chipping barnet at this time. I have dined some paintings and never disappointed. Last time I had the grilled. lachs with lemongrass minz erdnusss, with sticky cocose rice and it was delicious: the rich butter aromas of the grilled salmon and eddies that cing against the bed freshly picked crickets, including mint that it was served. the sticky cocose rice perfumed, but not too sweet or forward, a good foil for richer aromas, while it is delicious and satisfying by itself. the green tea ice cream is also delicious: an adult aroma, not too sweet but interesting, and moreish. the restaurant is well equipped and comfortable. it's worth a visit."

"A good casual, relaxed Americana restaurant. A focus on a young, modern, vibrant vibe with a retro feel. Good comfort eating options with more selective fish and meat higher priced food. A satisfying meal as long as you don't expect to be wowed by the cuisine. Service was good. There was a mix up over our main which was sorted out fast and efficiently. A little pricey for burgers in a bun as you order all sides separate including chips. Overall met expectations."

"Came in for a drink and something to eat and really enjoyed my time here. Came in around 5:30pm and was not too busy. Friendly and attentive staff, quick service, food was very tasty at 3 dishes for £15. I thought this to be a good deal! The drinks are with in the normal expectation and I enjoyed the draught cider! Id recommend this place for a place to meet up with friends or go on dates. Not to far from the tube station as well and ideal for a stop off to have a drink and a bite to eat. Really liked it here and will come again."

"Very pleasant, modern surroundings but still quaint within the golf club. We were seated near the floor to ceiling windows which open completely in the summer, with a lovely outlook onto the golf course. There is no set menu for lunch but a good choice and the food was very good. There is a fair wait though for the food to arrive, however it means it is freshly prepared. We will go again."

"Welcoming if overworked staff. and the desserts were good. However of our main courses the Cambodian salad was a dreadful mush and I doubt if the fillet steak sandwich was actually of FILLET steak it didn't taste like it. The ambience was good the Arkley is a nice pub./restaurant, however that itself breeds an expectation of excellence which only makes the disappointment worse when the food is so bad."

"Had a family meal here, and was told, despite being a kosher restaurant, that the food was good. Let 's start with the service: waitress with poor English, confused, slow. Ambience: forget it. Noise level: had to shout to be heard Food: Egg rolls dripped grease, smelled like burnt oil. Couldn 't eat it. I had the fish and chips, tasted like cafeteria food. Supposed to be Haddock, I have my doubts. Actual fiish was almost non-existent, 80% of the fish was heavy batter burnt into a thick hard dark brown crust. Value for money: LOL, average main was 25 pounds sterling. Entree 8.There are many kosher restaurants in the area. Give this one a miss."
