"This restaurant should not be serving food they have no knowledge on. Apparently a Shwarma and a donor are the same thing! (NOT) The menu gives an option of salad which consist of JUST lettuce. When I called to enquire why I had just received lettuce on my so called Shwarma i was advised I have to request this.. im.sorry did I miss something, a salad is a mixture of ingredients.. What a Joke! Food arrived 2 hours after ordering Stone cold. Straight in the bin! Waste of time and money!"

"Please read all reviews carefully. The food had very bland tastes and was not what we were expecting. The service was excellent, but the food just didn't meet our expectations. It seems like the restaurant is in attack mode, but maybe if they check themselves, they could attract more customers. My reviews are fair, and it seems like the restaurant cannot handle any honest criticism. Another customer at the restaurant had the same negative experience and shared it with the waitress, who did her best to accommodate us. It seems clear that it's not the customers who are ruining the restaurant's business."

"First time back after the overhaul and didn't disappoint! I miss the bar down the stairs but luckily got to chill by the new bar before our table was ready which was great as got to try the diffent gins on offer! when at the table we where really well looked after and service was quick the Steak was amazing cant wait to return"

"standard harvester fayre with little rave about. the next order of the Broccoli strands was a shameful representation of catering, as there were four measly stems of dried (almost dehydrated) that I could not eat and sent back to the kitchen. on the plus side the waiting staff was pleasant and helpful during my visit. this was probably my last visit to the Harvester chain as it confirmed my disappointment after a previous visit."

"Shocking customer service. I went here with my sister yesterday as she had vouchers for there. After we walked through the door, we waited because we are unaware of whether to just take a seat or someone will show us to a seat. So we...asked a lady who was stood by the counter and she sharply said take a menu and sit down . We found a seat and took a look at the Broad menu.. I choose the brownie boom crepe but I wanted strawberries instead of bananas and my sister went for the velvet milk chocolate crepe. I went to the till to order for us and told the lady serving that we had a pound off voucher when you spend I told her what I wanted and she put it through but then told me that I can use their free hot drinks deal if I'm buying a crepe which effectively saves less than the voucher I have which I didn't want. I wanted to use my voucher so I respectively declined and used the voucher I wanted to use. Then the senior member of staff came over and said I should have the brownie delight crepe which is exactly what I want. I told her that the reason I didn't choose that one is because it has white chocolate whereas the brownie boom has milk chocolate. I told them I don't like milk chocolate. Then she said they will swap white for milk chocolate. But that's exactly the same as swapping banana for strawberry. What's the difference?! Hot drinks arrived.. My cappuccino didn't have chocolate on top which I thought was odd as I never requested for none. And my sisters tea came with an espresso cup full of milk which was impossible to pour! A lady brought my crepe to the table and told me that they accidentally put white chocolate on my crepe and then put milk on top to disguise it. I told them again that I don't like white chocolate so I won't accept it, meaning that have to make me a new crepe..she was clearly annoyed and threw the whole thing in the bin.. Then within seconds a new crepe arrived with my correct order but the lady practically threw it on the table and just walked away, not even an apology.. Talk about rude. And when my sister's finally came, they didn't even tell her what it was and just put it down and left!!! Attractive crepes however they were stone cold! Obviously aren't made fresh.. Very disappointing. Would not recommend anybody going here.. Stay clear!"

"I haven't been to this restaurant since they changed their menu. The prawn and avocado starter was disappointing as it hardly had any avocado and the Mary sauce was bland. The fries and onion accompaniment to the main course were luke warm (though they were later replaced) and the medium-rare steaks were more rare than expected. It's a shame because the restaurant used to be excellent. The waitress did remove the price of one steak without us having to ask."

"visited the breakfast buffet this morning and was welcomed by a warm and helpful lady. but they obviously didn't take the punishment before 4 weeks about dirty schirr the punishment, as the tellers were still dirty this morning and being honest. in general looked well past their sale until date. the food is presented in big Casserole dishes and once a few spoons have gone a lot of, in which usually begins to see less appetit in the opposite to a previous review I did not find the eating swim in oil tho the hash brows were far flimsier than expected that could have been boiled in fat) and eating was still hot when I began to eat. the menu says fried eggs, but these looked more like fried eggs, so no evil hard things on the bottom. a definitive bonus. a little bigger egg would have been nice. the speck was a little too fat for my lust, but I guess that streaky bacon is from many at the breakfast. the milk boy for tea/coffee is very large and as someone with athriitis in my hands I fought to control it. another down there was no black pfeffer on the table available and when I asked for some, they had no at all. I decided to finish with a piece of toast and jam. there were 2 jam dishes, so I went for the darker colored, provided it could be heaven. I can only say it was red jam runny, texturless, tasteless, sweet and bland. they can decide for floorless tee or coffee as extra, but the only tee is pg tips. Overall, this was a fairer value, but I would rather pay another 50p and have cleaner, halfway decent jam and the possibility of a decaff tees like rooibos."

"Lunch time today, was some of the best food we have had out for a while,grilled cicken fillet, bacon, tomato sandwich, followed by sticky toffee cheesecake, whih didn't actually feel like it was still abit frozen in the middle, unlike some we have had,all cooked and presented nicely. It wasn't just a sandwich, it actually was a roll, slightly herby flavoured, with some herbs on top. The pub was very clean all the way through, the staff were very pleasant, and they make sure that you sign in with your details, lovely relaxing, it is not the cheapest of places, but felt worth the money for the overall experience, definitely recommend for a treat,for when you just want smeone else to cook for a change, lovely big garden as well."

"This Chinese/Thai restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It was my first time dining here and I would definitely come back again. We started with sweet bread and chili sauce, which was the most delicious bread I have ever tasted. Other restaurants should take notes! We also had prawns wrapped in filo pastry with chili sauce, black beef, fried rice, sticky rice, and pork fillet. Everything was delicious and you won't be disappointed dining here. The chairs were comfortable, the restrooms were clean, and the service was exceptional. The staff were efficient and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. 5 stars from me!"

"Thought we would give this a go and what a let down. When we first arrived we stood at the bar and was just ignored wish that was as bad as it got we got showed to a table and just left no idea if it was table service or you have to go to the bar. After waiting for 15 mins and no-one coming back over we decide to go to bar to get drinks and order food. As we get up from the table and head to the bar a gentleman asked if we were waiting to be served when we said yes he said he would get someone to come over. This was a total surprise that he worked there as it looked he had just finished working on his car judging by the look of his clothes. But still no-one came over so this time we just asked someone walking past If we can order which she did and even then got one of the 2 drinks wrong. When the food arrived it just summed up the place the food was luke warm and I 'm sorry you can 't call it a roast potato when it 's the size of a marble. I wish we had just carried on up the a6 to find somewhere else."

"Hadn’t eaten here for a while so 3 of us turned up but hadn’t booked a table and it was a very busy Friday night. Mark and his team went to a lot of effort to get us a table in the restaurant. The food was really good and piping hot, can highly recommend the Chicken Schnitzel and leg of lamb. Service was excellent, the staff were very attentive. Nice atmosphere in the bar, everyone very friendly. Will definitely be eating here again. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"We have been to The embankment before and had a great meal. So booked for our anniversary, in at 7.30 and already items not available on the menu. It was burger night so I thought I would have something different. The salt cod burger with kimchi and sriracha sauce. It arrived as a battered piece of cod not salted in the traditional sense no kimchi or sriracha sauce. When asked for kimchi some sliced cabbage with not a hint of ferment came out. It was a nice fish burger but not what I asked for. Staff tried to apologise but didn’t really have a response. The burger night had not long started. They were unfortunately slammed so service was a bit slow but they did apologise for it. Bill came after deserts and coffee and not even a note or comp pud for a different course than expected. On a plus the frickles were the highlight of the meal and would recommend. Maybe it was an off night them but it certainly wasn’t a good night for us."

"This really is a gem! Fantastically situated, expertly run and supplying delicious food, I can honestly fine no fault! Serving brilliant breakfasts, lovely lunches and the occasional supper club, there really is something for everyone. Not forgetting the delicious cakes and sweet treats. Lots and lots of toys, activities and games for the little ones, water and free treats for dogs, it's a home away from home for our family. Best eggs Benedict I've had! "we sat outside in one of the covered cabins, which was very cozy and enjoyable, as it was strongly raining! for the first hour or so, when we were the only ones out there, it felt a bit lonely and quiet. when the others joined, it felt like it had more atmosphere. we ordered the roast beef, which was average. the yorkshire pudding was quite stable and dry, and parts of the bark were quite fat, which was a canvas as we had a few weeks before and the bark was incredible. the sweet was a bowl of boiled, carrots and carrots, which was in order, and could perhaps be a personal choice, but I hate carrots on a brat! the cauliflower cheese we ordered separately, however, was incredible. we have ordered 3 bottles of rose wine, which, although beautiful, we felt something overpriced. this was the cheapest bottle of rose blood at £23 a bottle! it would be nice if there were more options to choose from. overall the place is great, and the personal was always friendly, just a little on the food and the price of certain items to this occasion. but still we will come back!"

"We arrived a bit late but phoned ahead. We were told they stopped serving food at 8.30 and they asked the chef if he could squeeze us in- we were told he could but we had to choose our food quickly, what a wonderful way to be welcomed! When we ordered we were told they only had limited amounts of food- ‘you have ordered the falafel- you’re supposed to get 8 but we only have 5 left’ (and then 4 arrived . I ordered the vegan curry (as someone who has not eaten meat in 30 years . What was served was a chicken curry. I took one bite and spat it out- I can tell the difference between a dead bird’s rotting carcass and actual food a mile off. Feeling sick, I went to the toilet, and whilst I was there the server tried to convince my boyfriend I had ordered the chicken curry (yes, of course I had! . When I came back to the table she tried the same number on me. Vegans don’t order chicken curries. FFS. The worst service, the worse food, just the worst."

"Came on a group holiday to Colston and ended up having a drink at The Royal Oak. The staff and atmosphere were immediately friendly and welcoming so we booked a table for lunch the next day as well. "I arranged a surprise party at the pub for my partner and the whole experience was fantastic. Ramona was particularly helpful when organising the party and made it easy for me. The garden room was a lovely setting for a party of 20 people and on the night the service was great and the food was all perfect. I will definitely be hosting there again! Thanks to everyone who made the night so special. Looking forward to visiting again soon!"

"If you think you can undermine a customer and get away with it. Before I continue, I wish to make it clear my one star rating is not aimed at the establishment itself, which I regard is a great place to dine and while away...some time. It's purely to reflect my feelings concerning your petulant attitude last evening. As you guys are aware, I only eat once a day and mainly in the evening. I look forward to that meal, but last night you completely ruined it for me with your petty squabble over the music that was played over the system, and to switch it off to get one over me was pretty grim. As a result, I was barely into my lovely meal when your verbal grenades destroyed my appetite and hurt my feelings. I didn't finish said meal and paid my bill and left the premises. Let me share with you something I learned many years ago when I, myself, worked in the hospitality industry. Familiarity breeds contempt. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking customers are your mates. Yes, we like a bit of banter, but there is a fine line between what you can or can't say to someone who is providing custom to your venue. Take that advice on board, it will certainly stand you in good stead in the future. On that note, five stars for food and venue, one star for customer service on this occasion. I wish you and all the staff well with kind regards."

"If your considering taking a break from the usual Sunday roast rigmarole at home, then I recommend you try the Sunday roast cooked at the Horse and Groom. My wife and mum love a good hearty Sunday roast so they decided to give the Sunday...roast at the Horse and Groom a try and were very impressed. Agatha as usual was weloming and accomadating as was her staff. The roast in our opinion is excellent value for money, and the portion size is certainly very generous. The beef along with the veg was well cooked and the traditional Yorkshire pudding was light, fluffy and substantial. If you feel like giving yourself a well earned treat at the end of a tireing week then give the Horse and Grooms Sunday roast a try you won't be disappointed."
