"Ok food, really cheap, really stressed staff. The offer only one vegetarian meal (Käseschnitte, bread with melted cheese) but I could easily order a Rösti without the meat. They even gave me a cheaper price because it was without meat. This was really refreshing as most other restaurants don’t give a discount for ordering without meat. The Rösti was more cheese than Rösti (maybe some people prefer this but I didn’t) and was really big. My colleagues Schnitzel and Cordon Bleu were also really big. The price is really great. I would recommend eating there if you don’t want to spend a lot of money and have enough to eat. Also if you search for a gutbürgerliche Küche . The downside was the waiting time. We waited a long time and tables that ordered after us got their food first. The only waitress was stressed the whole time and ordering something took a long time. I wouldn’t go in there again. It wasn’t that bad but just not great."

"Super fresh food, a great selection and a variety of drinks, also for an aperitif. There are deductions for table arrangements and seating. Some of them are way too close together (keyword: privacy) and I find chairs without backrests or even plastic stools unacceptable. Luckily there are other 'normal ' tables too. I also find continuous sound with ambient house unnecessary in a restaurant. Very uncomplicated, efficient and courteous service. All in all, highly recommended, we 'll be back."

"Wir hatten spontan etwas zu feiern und relativ kurzfristig reserviert, haben einen wunderbaren Tisch in der Vinothek mit Blick auf die Aare bekommen. Sehr sympathische und aufmerksame Bedienung. Wir wählten das 4 Gänger Menü, bestehend aus herbstlichen Köstlichkeiten. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Hokkaido Kürbiscreme mit Waldpilztatar und Kaviar von letzterem merkte man zwar nicht viel, dafür sind mir die karamellisierten(? Kürbiskerne und der Trüffelschnee in nachhaltiger Erinnerung eine geniale Komposition! Auch das Blutwursttapa schmeckte mir als Nicht Blutwurst Fan ausgezeichnet. Hauptgang für mich ein bisschen zu mais lastig aber auch sehr lecker. Für uns ein von A wie Amuse bouche bis Z wie Ziegenkäse ein sehr gelungener kulinarischer Abend, für den wir uns herzlich bedanken."

"Great tapas spot! It was packed when we went at 7pm on a Tuesday. Had a drink and some starter tapas at the standing bar while waiting for a table to open up was about 20 25 min. Worth the wait. They served the best pisco sour I've had! Not too sweet or sour, with a thick foam better than those I had in Chile. For food, the pulpo a la plancha and chorizo in sherry were definitely winners! And ask for the spicy sauce they offer for the patatas bravas."

"Unfriendly staff and inauthentic Lebanese cuisine of poor quality. The vegan plate for 33 CHF contains just 2 far dry falafel, half a soup spoon of hummus, a stuffed grape leaf, a small pickled something, something else fried, a tiny spinach bag and a small bowl of salad. That's it. There is also chewy, cold flatbread from a plastic bag. Once and never again! Better go to the Pittaria. There you can get a really good and fresh falafel plate for CHF 20 :"

"Lunch at the Rosengarten with that AMAZING view of the old town, very nice food and super friendly and efficient service, was one of the highlights of our European holiday. Reflecting on all the other reviewers' comments about the restaurant's popularity, we only heard about it on our arrival in Bern and went there without a reservation to find it packed. To our amazement our party of five was not only accepted but shown to the best table in the corner by the window with an unimpeded view of Bern. We still can't believe our luck and the Rosengarten will forever be the site of one of our most memorable meals."

"A nice little place to find a bit of Ticino authenticity in Bern. Excellent service, very friendly, really good risotto and not bad luganighette. The atmosphere of the place is really fantastic. The menu could still have something more from our canton. Instead of luganighette, a real local luganiga with a nice Milanese risollto or a nice polenta with braised meat. The best in summer: grilled ribs (NOT POINTS , but of course you need a nice grill (see photo of the Canvetto federation of Canobbio . But this is just a suggestion, otherwise I really recommend it and I will definitely return. If you make ribs, I'll come every week : A separate compliment for our young waiter. He has been working at the grotto for two days and he was very nice and competent! Another one for the acrobatic waitress, who saved the tray full of glasses with a circus action Knie!"

"We are excited! The food was fresh, exceptional with great and refined ingredients, to the point and simply delicious! Price/performance was 100% right for us, the staff was friendly and the young chef even personally asked us about our well being. Although it is difficult for us to classify the different courses, special praise must be given to the Asian tartare in a lettuce leaf and the fig pecorino pasta a culinary delight. Again and again. The daily menus (including salad buffet) were great!! 1x pork fillet in a pepper sauce with rice for approx. 25. , 2x chicken with vegetables and potatoes for approx. 22. . Meat was really great!! The side dishes are also great. Spaghetti pomodoro for the little one was also nice. Very nice service. The terrace is OK, but unfortunately on a busy road. But you can already see it on the map and the noise wasn't bothersome. Top restaurant!!"

"Ich werde dort noch mehr Essen gehen, obschon ich das Bella Vita nur als befriedgend bewertet habe.Die Pizzen sind sehr gut und auch der Service ist freundlich. Zum Dessert hatten wir einen Himbeergratin, welcher göttlich war. Einige der Mitarbeiter sind Italiener, was man den Speisen anmerkt.Der Nachteil für die Gäste ist der Lärmpegel! Es war extrem laut, das Restaurant extrem voll und die Bestuhlung ist eng. Für ein romantisches Dinner nicht die beste Wahl. Für ein schnelles, leckeres und dem Preis angemessenen Essen aber sicher weiterzuempfehlen!"

"We were invited by a friend who had been posted in Bern for some years and liked this restaurant. We have no idea what the bill was. The salads were delicious and my wife enjoyed her steak but I was badly disappointed by the steak tartare which was not au couteau i.e. finely chopped but simply ground like a hamburger. It was sticky, gelatinous, and almost disgusting. The toasts that came with it were rather horrid white bread and no garlic was provided. No decent restaurant should dare to serve that. My wife had a very indifferent omelette soufflée ; my crème brûlée was O.K. but nothing worth writing home about. We were welcomed by a very pleasant young woman who was replaced (to our loss) by a clumsy, boorish, untrained young man. The politicians and diplomats who frequent the discreet first floor of this establishment do not come for the cuisine obviously."

"Overall I think Jack Brassiere has lost its reputation and stature . Dishes that you see on Google are no longer existed : seafood tower , schweinshaxe .. Foods are ok , but not exceptional . Lamb tenderloin is good but poulet with supreme sauce not as expected Wines by the bottle are a lot more expensive than Zermatt . Services are slow , slow .. Hopefully they will be better next year ."

"A small menu with very careful dishes. An idyllic setting in a central location although a little out of the way. A stone's throw from the Museum of Fine Arts Interesting selection of wines. Dinner on the terrace. The tables are quite close together and that evening it was a little noisy. Not for confidential conversations therefore The service is very professional and fast, a bit American-style. From the photos, I imagined “nouvelle cuisine” style portions, but ultimately not at all. Generous portions. To improve the experience we could offer bread, and let the diner breathe between two courses. Curious to test seasonal variations..."

"Am Abend bin ich spontan in dieses Restaurant gekommen. Ich bin sehr freundlich begrüsst worden und mir wurde ein schöner Tisch angeboten. Der Gastraum ist modern eingerichtet und bietet ausreichen Platz, ohne dass man zu eng aufeinander sitzt. Die Karte ist klein und überschaubar. Habe mich für die Tagessuppe und Bulgogi mit Schwein entschieden. Die Suppe war sehr würzig mit Spinat, Zwiebeln, Pilzen und etwas Tofu. Das Hauptgericht sollte scharf sein, für mich hätte es etwas mehr Schärfe sein können. Sehr aufmerksam wurde ich mit Getränken versorgt. Die Bezahlung erfolgt am Tresen, so dass dies auch sehr schnell ging. Sehr leckeres Essen, heiss, und frisch. Gerne komme ich wieder, würde sogar einen Umweg dafür in Kauf nehmen."

"Great food at a fair price! We went spontaneously, without a reservation, and yet got a (reserved) table in a dignified atmosphere. Super friendly staff, the menu and the food were delivered quickly. Water was always refilled without being asked. The nut salad was amazing! Followed by super fine taglitelle with salmon, rounded off with a delicious tiramisu. Highly Recommended!"

"Very nice pub in the middle of Bern. A dream for beer lovers, the menu is forever long, but the prices for beer are quite high. What I liked best was the finger food. I like to eat something small when I drink a few beers with friends. There are nachos, chicken wings, garlic bread etc. The prices for the food are really fair. In the restaurant you can only order in English, which is ok since it is an Irish pub. The pub is large and comfortably furnished, so you don't actually want to leave. In any case, a good place for people who don't know their way around Bern like me. Lovely again."
