"Besigheim am Neckar was awarded many years ago by the spectators of the MDR to the most beautiful wine destination in Germany. Of course, what can be due to the fact that the Neckar is at most far from Saxony – or that one likes to forgive Glorification from a distance. But in this case, I can also agree unavoidably as locals. Besigheim has an intact, picturesque city centre, lush Mediterranean greening (can win the “our-dorf-soll-be-award” every year), as well as a delightful gastronomic offer that is not only based on wine. However, those who prefer not to travel as a driver due to the wine can also use the regional railway or the Neckarpersonalenschiffahrt, which currently docks twice a week in Besigheim. A part of the attractive city centre is pedestrian zone anyway. Over the years I have already tested almost all good-bourgeois locals with regional cuisine (even the Weisswurst European champion of the year 2007). The market economy opened in 2017 was still on my absolute wish list. The patron Frank Land has returned to his homeland after gastronomic teaching and hiking years, among others in Mallorca, Kitzbühel and the Berlin Adlon, and has moved to Besigheim the best location. The market economy resides on the ground floor of a magnificent, beautifully renovated house with a plentifully exposed work directly on the market square. In the outdoor area you sit under palm trees and south-western dowel plants, or stretch out in a deck chair overlooking the city fountain and the town hall. Generous screens donate shadows. In the very well maintained interior with 70 seats dominate rustic wood, comfortable seating furniture, stylish decoration. Although a thunderstorm is in the air, it pulls me out. Finding a good table at the easy-to-wear marketplace, which is also optimally protected in the event of a rain, requires multiple conversions. We'll be granted. Since there is almost a coffee-and-cheek-time around 16:30, there is only a small map on the tables. For example, we decide a warm-up with a white wine choir (3,80 euros), a simple Americano (3,00 euros) and a light Rhabarber-Erdbeer-Sorbet (3,00 euros). At a good 30 degrees outside temperature, the Schorle could have been a little cooler and more splashy, for that it is served in a beautiful carafe. Unfortunately, what wine was used was not to be appreciated – the market economy, however, cooperates with such valued wineries as Dautel from Bönnigheim, Aldinger from Fellbach or Wöhrwag from Untertürkheim, all of them first class. The coffee is purchased by the Heilbronnn Rösterei Hagen. The Americano is strong, deep dark, with nutty-chocolate aromas. The fruity-refreshing sorbet harmonizes perfectly. Here you have not only slapped a ball of ice on a plate, but tastefully and lovingly decorated, among other things with slightly heated peach columns and fresh berries. Unfortunately we don't get out of this appetizer. When a rain shower starts suddenly, it becomes uncomfortable and we almost pull away the seat cushions under Popo. Something bad, otherwise we experience the service as very accommodating, facing and polite, are almost going to chat when paying. At the (unfortunately barrier-free) way to the toilet, I can still catch a look at the kitchen, where actually the preparations for the evening are made in the finest handmade. Looks like it's typo. It is therefore absolutely necessary to return. The market economy offers an extra lunch table from 11:30 to 14:00 and organizes numerous special events such as cooking classes, jazz evenings with live music, wine tastings, culinary theme weeks. Despite the densely sown gastronomic offer in Besigheim's city centre, the market economy is a real gain for the place. It doesn't always have to be a white sausage..."

"The Ratsstüble is located in the centre of the picturesque old town of Besigheim, surrounded by impressive works. It already looks back on a long tradition that has come and go various host families. We visited Besigheim during a day trip to the Neckar Weinland and decided to eat lunch here. The diverse selection of small dishes at attractive prices also told us. The interior extends over two floors and is rustically furnished. Single tables in separate niches provide individuality and plenty of fabric and carpet runners on the floor for a damped volume. All kinds of historical agricultural work equipment and individual oil paintings on the walls round off the authentic flair. In front of the door are placed along the house as well as on an adjacent small square several tables that are partly also protected by parasols. In summer it is possible to observe the restful driving on the (luckily) bustle main road. Cleanliness was as good as possible, even the toilets worked well. The ladies of the service have not yet been set to guests who wanted to sit outside. However, once we had pointed out to us, it worked with the service, even if the kindness was reserved. The food was served personally by the boss, who also asked if everything was fine. No reason to complain from our site. Food Drink The menu is traditionally well-organized with Swabian specialties. In addition to some meat dishes, there are also mullet dishes, cold vesper and various garnished toasts. But vegetarians can also survive here. We decided to: surprise toast with pork and beef fillet as well as champignons and scrambled eggs garnished “Klingler Spezial” salad plate with 2 pork fillets and bread. Since this Saturday at the end of May there were not many sailors on the road, we did not have to wait long for our dishes. My surprise toast was a full meal with the salad supplement. The two types of meat were suitable, pleasantly seasoned and delicate. Also the agitator had the correct not too dry consistency. Only among the mushrooms were those from the can. Sure in May is not fun season but with simple fresh mushrooms I would have been completely satisfied. Easy deductions in the B note for this. The salad plate of my wife was similar crisp and diverse as my supplement salad was only much richer. The pig fillets were as well spiced and tender as on my toast. The Besigheimer Riesling fits well. An expressive but not quite dry food companion for light summer dishes. Conclusion A spontaneous meal in picturesque ambience both outside and inside. A team that has not yet been set to summer but with a very friendly boss. Meat concrete good-bourgeois cuisine with small peculiarities but also light slippers. All in all, however, recommended, also due to the appropriate price level."

"The Gasthaus Hirsch is located in the middle of the historic old town of the most beautiful wine resort in Germany. An impressive, lovingly renovated terraced house, as well as beautifully designed annexes. The decor is cozy, rustic, suitable for the style of the house. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, coffee, cake and dinner. From morning to evening we will offer you a complete catering service, there is no need for a tired hiker to starve. In addition to and opposite, there are also in rustic work, two guest houses with rooms to sleep, there are 1 to 3 bedrooms, and additional guest rooms. A traffic-smooth zone ensures an undisturbed night sleep and in summer sit comfortably in front of the restaurant. It is also possible to flick the historic buildings and small shops that are in peace. My husband and I really didn't want that, but the table with the selection of Swabian dishes in front of the restaurant has brought us to return. This would also have been a cozy meeting place for our mouthbag-interested Golocalers. That was my first thought when I saw the choice of a variety of lock shells on the map. From in broth, to filled with hain, or even crisp with salad, for every taste what is there. I baked the variant with ham and cheese and a mixed salad. My husband did hard between the vegetarian dishes and the onion roast, chose as a compromise carving without pommes, only salad. As a drink the so-called national drink, a quarter of red from the Besigheimer Felsengartenkellerei. My homemade mouthbags were a bit too thick for my taste, but tastefully very good. I wouldn't have used the brown sauce to mouth pockets. The dressing with balsamico vinegar on the potato salad is not mine either. For that, my husband, when he had released the pommes, got 3 pumpkin and a huge salad plate he didn't do everything, but tasted him well. At the end of the service it was unique. A competent service and three trainees were very attentive. Also welcomed every new guest personally and offered places. Actually earned 5 stars for this beautiful place, but since the sauce and the dressing did not make me so happy, I give good 4 stars for it"
