"I visited today for a belated birthday celebration with friends. We were looking forward to our lunch as it was the first trine since the first lockdown that we were able to get together for a birthday celebration. The decor here is very pleasant but...the restaurant was cold and initially we were reluctant to take off coats off. The food was acceptable but for the price point, we felt that the cheese soufflé was very small, the steaks quite thin and two were not cooked as ordered. We were offered the choice of another meal or reduction but would have preferred that they had been cooked as ordered in the first place. On a more positive note, members of the party really enjoyed both the mackerel starters and hake main course and there was a good and generous selection on the cheese board. I felt that whilst the service was efficient and polite, there was no warmth in the delivery of the service which would have enhanced our customer experience and I would hesitate to recommend for a special occasion ."

"Ambience on the noisy side. Why do groups of 4 people need to shout at each other across relatively small tables. Flavours in the food were relatively good as described in menu. Key ingredients in the dishes and dessert portion sizes were skimped in the extreme. Ingredients in Orata alla Sicilianna , Pan fried sea bass fillet approx 150 G , with herb crusted potatoes approx 100 G , roasted Marzanino tomatoes 4 very small marble sized tomatoes , garlic lemon and extra virgin oil dressing. We can buy this quantity and quality of ingredients for less than 4.00. Fratelli 's menus price 18.95 !!! Papardelle Salmone Smoked salmonwith leeks and onions in a cream white wine sauce, topped with wild rocket Really was hunt the salmon, and overall ingredients cost got to be less than 3.00. Fratelli 's menus price 14.95 !!! Draw you own conclusions on excessive mark ups. We challenge Fratelli 's to dispute justify these estimated buy in costs and what looks like a typical x 5 mark up from cost to selling. Initial reception was fairly friendly and efficient. Initial ordering ok, further ongoing attention and final atempt to settle bill painfully patchy and slow. Note the waitress offer Parmingiano free in pretty small pots ~20g to accompany main courses. Note they say Parmingiano not Parmigiano Reggiano which is a very different animal. Note ALDI sell the real thing Parmigiano Reggiano for less than 3.00 for 200g, last purchased by us about 2 weks ago. Perhaps Fratelli could clarify if their offering is Parmigiano Reggiano. We would not rush to go there again."

"Our party of six sat down at 19.05, drinks and food order was taken and drinks delivered promptly, my red wine was old, tired and undrinkable, then waited, and waited for our food, with an interim request from the waiter for more drinks, and finally food was delivered at 20.00. My wife had the sea bass, which was burnt, with the rosti potato nothing but a sad oil loaded slab; untouched. My Thai chicken curry reminded me of the “good old days” when boil in the bag was popular, with this dish not at all fresh tasting, so not finished. Only one of our party left a clean plate when we were finished, with two having the burger and leaving at least half of it, then more waiting for our plates to be cleared away, this around 20.40, and given we had eight and 11 year olds with us made the waiting more frustrating. When asked about the meal, since so much had been left, we told them politely what we thought and they did at least deduct one meal and drink from the bill, but, a wasted evening out. We thought better of ordering desserts and the highlight of our evening was dropping into Sainsbury’s on the way back home to pick up desserts. Service was poor throughout, only matched by the food; we will not be returning."

"After getting it being recommended to us, we visited the Biggles Lounge as part of the continuing Curry Tour. We visited on ‘Banquet Night’ purely by accident, but decided to take advantage of the ‘deal’. The mandatory Onion Bhajis were to be honest, disgusting. They were literally served on a pool of oil. What they lacked in taste, was certainly made up in greasiness. I managed to eat one and left the other. Not a good start. Main courses were OK – nothing outstanding, nothing special and nothing to return for. The highlight of the evening was the comedy cheese naan! It was absolutely hilarious and still makes us laugh. It was a normal naan with a bit of grated cheese on top! Possibly the worst, if not the funniest naan we have experience on tour. Despite the recommendation to us, we cannot recommend the Biggles Lounge. We fail to understand how others have found the Biggles Lounge to be apparently so good... ...it struggled to be average at the very best in our opinion. However, if you want a good laugh, order one of their cheese naans! So, so funny!"

"My girlfriend and I made a reservation for Sunday lunch at 3 p.m. last Sunday. I have a severe dog allergy, so they seated us in the bar where dogs are not allowed. We both ordered the mixed meat (beef, pork, and chicken) roast dinner and it was amazing and there was plenty of it. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, including parsnips, carrots, roast potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower with stuffing and crackling. I may have missed some, but it was all so delicious. I had rhubarb crumble with hot custard for dessert, which was also fantastic. My girlfriend had a chocolate dish with whipped cream and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The chef made sure everything was to our liking and the staff were attentive and very polite. We will definitely be returning. I now understand why they are always busy and why you need to make a reservation if you want to dine there. The best part is that the Bell is practically right on my doorstep, so I don't have to drive miles to get there. Thank you for a wonderful lunch! Parking: There is a car park opposite with plenty of spaces."

"If you’re looking for a great place to have a coffee, snack or meal, look no further that Rosso Lounge Cafe Bar on the High Street, Biggleswade. I’ve been a regular customer since the beginning of the year, so my review is well overdue! Rosso’s decor is querky yet comfortable with a mix of furniture, pictures and a very large duck collection which shouldn’t work but it does! The drinks/food are delicious and fairly priced. All customers are greeted warmly including parents with small children and customers with their doggie companions. The staff are professional, hardworking and friendly, especially under pressure when they are exceptionally busy. A big shout out to the lovely Fayley, Izzie and Catherine and also to Lenny who all welcome me with a smile and a catch up each and every time I visit (almost daily). Also another shout out to the new staff (Hannah, Dani and Lucy) who have all been training and doing a fantastic job (sorry if I missed anyone out). I’m very much looking forward to my next visit which is likely to be tomorrow."

"I am disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. When I made a reservation for a party of 16, I requested to be seated in the conservatory area to avoid feeling cramped. Despite reassurances, we were instead seated at the back of the restaurant. The service was slow, with drinks and starters taking over an hour to arrive. We waited another hour for our mains, and had to constantly remind the staff about our forgotten drinks. The food did not live up to expectations and did not resemble the pictures online. Although the restaurant did take a few items off the bill, we left feeling disappointed and do not plan on returning."

"We made a reservation for four people for a late Sunday lunch, which I would recommend as the restaurant was very busy. There is a large parking lot at the back of the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated at our table, our drink orders were taken, and we were given time to look over the menu. We ordered 3 roast beef and 1 roast leg of lamb, which came with seasonal vegetables. We also ordered a cauliflower cheese to share. The food was served hot, well-presented, and delicious. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and there was plenty for us to enjoy. The only thing missing was roasted parsnips, which I personally like but not many places offer. However, this did not take away from the overall quality of the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and the staff we encountered were all attentive and friendly."

"My friends and I hadn’t met up for a while lockdown had got in the way so we decided on the Goa for our reunion dinner. One friend, who has digestive issues requested that her Vegetable Bhuna was cooked without garlic which was...done to her request and it was lovely! The other friend had a sag dhal which was yummy but I can’t ever fault my absolute favourite the Goan Green Chilli Chicken! It’s sublime not the prettiest looking but just the right heat and oozing with spice and flavour. We had rice and naan with our food and poppadums to start and a wonderful time was had by all. The Goa has continued to serve this village with initially takeaways and deliveries but has kept going throughout this pandemic. Well done to Naz and his team!"

"I had a fantastic experience at this Turkish restaurant in Dunstable. They offer delicious vegetarian options and the complimentary bread and dips were delicious. The service was excellent and they have a variety of Turkish cocktails and red wine, as well as the usual drinks at the bar. The atmosphere was great too, making it a perfect spot for a dinner outing. The price per person is around £20-£30. I highly recommend trying the Vegetarian Moussaka, as it was a standout dish. Vegetarians will be pleased with the extensive vegetarian menu or section."

"We were sorting out some family business in Potton and had to stay overnight. We wanted to go for a meal but neither of us knew anything about pubs in Potton. We chose the Rising Sun and were very glad that we did. It can be a bit daunting going into a village pub for the first time but not here. We were greeted by the man behind the bar who turned out to be the Chef. He informed us that food started at 6pm, it was quarter to so we got drinks, set up a tab and sat down. The pub had a lot of tables but spread nicely. It was clean and the decor suited the building. The Chef gave us menu's, there was quite a lot of choice at reasonable prices. Just after 6 a very polite and presentable waitress came and took our order. When the food arrived it was well presented, plentiful and extremely tasty. Even at that early hour a lot of people came into the pub, mainly for meals. I was particularly impressed with the toilets, clean and no discernible smell. Altogether I think we made an excellent choice with The Rising Sun and would not hesitate to make a return visit."

"The owners have an excellent reputation from their previous restaurant, the Peacock. They have excelled themselves with their new business. "We dine here a lot; food good and portions when eating in are tasty and generous. We've had a takeaway through delivered on a couple of occasions, not only is it more expensive which is odd but the portion size is meagre. Mains are OK although lots sauce but starters are a rip off. Very small portions of everything. Don't even bother with the mixed starter for two. It barely fed one £13.95!!! For an expensive takeaway no little extras like fortune cookies or prawn crackers. Not impressed. Won't be ordering takeaway again."

"I have always enjoyed my meals at this place my favourite being Chicken Sagerana, with Sag Ponir, and Pilau or Mushroom Rice. The service is always warm friendly. "There have been some changes since the last time I ordered from this restaurant. It seems like there is new management, and it is evident in the quality of the food. I ordered haddock and chips over the phone and was quoted £8, but when I arrived, I was charged £10.50. The food tasted like it was cooked in old oil, with burnt and unpleasant chips. The fish was okay, but not as good as the last time I ordered. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be returning. I do not usually leave negative reviews, but I was disappointed with my experience tonight. It seems that something has changed, and I am not sure if I will come back again."

"we were at some places in the pariser house and have never been disappointed with the food or service. eating is always presented on an excellent way and the tastes are wonderful. the service was always excellent and the staff knowledgeable with regard to the menu and the ingredients used. the weinlist is very extensive and the staff is always available for advice to combine to the wein with each cure. the meals are never rushed and we could always take our time with the whole meal. the pariser house restaraunt is located in the beautiful surroundings of a part of the woburn park and a beautiful old building. we would have this restaraunt for the food, location and service that have given and done to everyone."
