"After an interesting walk around Cognac old town, we found this cafe. The plat du jour (bavette à l’échalote) at Euro 8.50 caught our eye and we stopped for lunch. This is a classic French bistro dish and the cafe managed it just right. Simple but delicious, served with a big portion of frites (chips) and lettuce. There was a small charge for mustard, ketchup, etc.Friendly server. Clean washroom.On the downside, dogs were allowed in the cafe. Fortunately we were seated outside."
