"The Red Lion is a very friendly place, both in terms of the clientelle and the wait staff. It's a gorgeous old pub, although the inside isn't quite as beautiful as the exterior due to some modernising touches. The prices are fair. We did find that in our main courses there were some overwhelming choices in terms of sauces bream with a very strong wine sauce, and a Chinese dish that had a very strong sweet soy base which was too strong for a broth. I think that the more traditional meat dishes are probably the way to go. We enjoyed our evening."

"Had an unforgettable meal at the Three Mariners in Oare! The short rib of beef was slow-cooked to perfection and just melted off the bone. Hands down, the best I've ever tasted. Strongly recommend. Five stars! Parking: Loads of parking space near the entrance. Off the road as well so the cars are safe. Kid-friendliness: Lovely kids menu beautifully decorated. The kids loved playing on the boats outside, which apparently have been brought in from the creek a stones throw away. "The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and delightful. While the food was hot and fresh, it didn’t quite suit our tastes, as the flavors were different from what we're accustomed to. I found it a bit unusual when I ordered the chicken tikka main and was asked if I wanted it served off the bone—I've never encountered that before. I might consider returning and trying something else. Thank you for having us. Service: Dine in."

"We decided to take advantage of the Afternoon Tea for £10/per person and we weren’t disappointed. We were socially distanced nicely, as requested. Great selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones which were all lovely and fresh too, choice of tea or coffee. Thank you Jason, we will be back! Would definitely recommend."

"Not a great experience for a first time visit. Service was incredibly lame the staff just didn’t seem on the ball at all. 20 mins just to take a drinks order isn’t ideal (only a few covers were present in the restaurant at this point). The meat board was good by way of the meats being cooked very well, but the amount of salt used was just excessive even Salt BAE would have difficulty sprinkling that amount of salt on meat. Our mouths were burning and many, many bottles of mineral water were consumed as a result of how salty the meat was. Further drink orders were place only to be waiting for 15 mins for them to arrive (only after I prompted one of the waiters to bring our drinks to the table). I was then presented with a £18 service charge which I felt was not deserved owing to the front of house staff not providing a dining experience that, at a bare minimum, was hoped for. I opted to pay £5 instead only to be told by the waiter “I’ll remove the whole charge”. He was obviously aware of the poor service we had received. I’m sorry, but I won’t be returning nor will I recommend this restaurant."
