"Some friends and I went here for afternoon food and drinks. We ordered a couple of crepes and some soup and some drinks and a water. As our food and drinks arrived (other than the water that arrived once we had all finished eating and...drinking..! my partner tried her soup and didn’t like it as it tasted bitter as if perhaps some of it had burnt at the bottom of the pan..? Both of the crepes were not hot, luke warm at best, but we said nothing. My partner did however send the soup back as she found it inedible. The waiter took the soup back and said no problem and could he get her something else instead. She decided she didn’t want anything else. Once we had finished and went to pay the soup was still on the bill..! I said we had sent it back as it was not acceptable. Then the owner came out and said that she was still going to charge us for it. To be honest I was in absolute shock. I have been eating out for over years and this is the first time I have ever been charged for food that was not eaten and sent back as it was not edible. The owner became very rude and agitated and I actually found her quite aggressive about the situation. It’s been a very very long time since I have been out for any kind of food or drink and left feeling that bad. I feel this was absolutely inexcusable customer service. I have left having to pay for some uneaten soup but had it been taken off the bill as it should have been maybe she would have not lost repeat customers. Very sorry but this is a business model that I can recommend to nobody. Very sorry that someone not liking your soup was so damaging to your ego but surely that’s part of the service industry you are in. Far more enjoyable food and establishments out there."

"The haggis nachos for starter were delicious and the ingredients seemed really fresh. After that however, the steak wasn't seasoned and the sides were bland and greasy. To top it off, not once during the meal were we asked how the food was. Consequently there was a birthday party upstairs and it was a complete riot. Not the kind of environment you expect when sitting down to an overpriced £70 meal. Very disappointing.EDIT : As the owner has decided to reply to my review I would like to reiterate a few of the things mentioned. I will repeat, we WERE NOT asked how our meal was because believe me when I say I actually made a comment to my partner on how you guys dodged a bullet by not asking. The waitresses can tell you what they like because they're obviously not going to tell you they were incompetent in their roles last night. I assure you, a young blonde girl took our main dishes away and did not ask how they were. The fact that you have addressed with all feedback is welcome, yet proceeded to try and shoot down my perfectly valid complaints tells me more about the denial of your establishment and your characters as staff. If I did not feel that the experience was loud and bland I would not have taken the time to write this review in the first place. I have bumped this down to a 1 star rating due to the overall attitude and response. Furthermore, for a middle price range restaurant I did not expect to have kids screaming, running around and continuously slapping the menus on the table whilst I was trying to salvage some enjoyment from my disappointing and near flavourless dish.I understand that you are trying to save face for the restaurant but either yourself or your staff are lying. Not exactly the kind of service customers expect in your field.I'd also like to add that upon reading further reviews a similar noise complaint was made regarding a birthday party yet your response to them was completely different. I'm a very fair person and the general consensus I get from the reviews is that the food, atmosphere and service is very inconsistent. You should consider more staff training or further investigation as to the varying levels your establishment provides.Haggis Nachos were great though."
