"Yesterday we stopped for lunch at the Relais de Gascogne. There was a sign to say 'under new management ',this did not put us off. There were 2 blackboards offering a 15.50 euro menu with 3 courses, wine or a 25 Euro menu offering only 2 courses and wine. Having waited a while to be served, we opted for the 15.50 euro menu, only to be told it was ended, finished and we would have to have the 25 euro menu.... We should have been told this before we were seated. However we don 't mind the extra cost if the meal is good. We chose the squid as our first and main course. The squid duly arrived, it was out of a tin, only just luke warm served on cold plates, the parmesan risotto only slightly warmer . Definitely not good food or value for money. The waitress was not interested and neither the pleasant person behind the bar who we paid on the way out. Recommend just order steak and chips if you do have to stop there. We will not go there again we felt let down and ripped off, not up to usual standards of French cuisine."
