"Les Quais in Grandson is a favorite of ours whenever we want to celebrate while staying on the reasonable side. The location is the best you can get, it is on the lake, so you will have a beautiful view, you can have a very fine walk before or after your meal and parking is not an issue. The restaurant itself is decorated in a clean and modern style with some questionnable choices in decoration (the horse for instance) but still, it creates a nice atmosphere. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is good. The menu is on the short side with less than ten starters to choose from and like five or six main dishes of fish and the same of meat. Normally though, everyone should find something palatable, even the kids. The dishes are cooked with some finesse, you can see that some attention has been given. It is definitely not the best gastronomic restaurant I know, but it is not so expensive as well which makes it a fine compromise between more basic food and the top of the line. The choice of wines is very fine with some local production which is always a plus and some standards if you are lost.Count a price between 80-100 CHF per person for a starter, a main, a dessert, one bottle of wine, minerals and coffee, which is actually quite fair. This place is precious, because there are not so many restaurant placed in this price range and offering this quality, you would be either below or above, so although it would not take much to make this restaurant from good to great, I don't think I want this, I like it as it is now.Give it a try, if the weather is good, do not forget to book, it might be full, just with the people having a walk along the lake."

"the pecos is located in grandson, about 300 meters in front of the city border of yverdon. it is part of the communal camp site and is located a short stone's throw away from the lake. from the outside it looks ramshackle and completely uninviting, but step inside and. they will discover a huge escapade. verily, the decor is not existent, so it needs something mute to take a place for the first time visitors. first, the employees are very welcoming and, as later, efficient. this visit was in the middle of oktober, so the menu not only a selection of fresh water fish, but also game. you can eat à la carte, but there is also a menu with the choices of the appetizers and the main. the wine list is also extensive and offers not only fine local wines, but also weine from other Swiss regions, mostly to cheap trips. we all had the tag menu, price at 48 francs (from $50). We chose a starter of chanterelle mushrooms, beautifully presented on a glass plate with a piece of meat terrarium and salat. our main course was the house speciality, filets served by cash with perfect riders. too often perch filets are overboiled and become hard and dry, but these remained soft and damp. a part is quite significant, but if you take the à la carte dish, an additional help is very favorable. dessert was a poched birne, sorbet and a feige preserved; again artistically presented, very tasty and light. weine are available by glass, pitcher or bottle. there is a great selection of drinks after dinner, including an amazing selection of rounds and whiskys. Almost everyone was occupied, this was a Thursday, so it is advisable to reserve a table. (phone 024 445 24 76) .es gives enough free parking before and on the side of the restaurant. to sum up the pecos, you hesitate to enter, but leave completely satisfied. it is worth testing his mut."
