"in the hamburger “Portugiesenviertel”, situated between the streets venusberg and Johannisbollwerk/Vorsatz, a restaurant corresponding to the name of the quarter accrues to the next ... fifteen, twenty years ago the quarter was still considered to be a secret tip, today the tourist is strolling around here, and numerous of these restaurants should be rented in summer and then mainly at the weekend of the fairy-season... especially because it doesn't bend around the year. that would certainly not be helpful, because in the beira rio there are still many Portuguese, but rather under the week and at the weekend to later hour. as nossek said we had problems with the reservation for our golocal meeting in another restaurant, I suggested to him the beira rio. not groundless, but already with a somewhat mulsifying feeling. on the one hand, I was sure that they could all accommodate us here and also thought the very simple ambiente was suitable for getting to know each other in the “locker” frame, on the other hand I was afraid that some might “be too easy here. what should it be, you have to risk something : and you can't do it to all. in the beira rio you will find neither serrated, fried nor geduned on the map, also “on” and “on”. here is the opposite: Iberian fishermen and kitchen. simple, honest, authentic and the main ingredients are wonderfully fresh. Although the brave, the scampi in garlic sauce, as well as the venus mussels have irritated me, I have dispensed with an appetizer with a heavy heart, because I already knew which portions are being served here. at the end of my corner hanging in the shallows was not the sense of our meeting. but perhaps I should have announced something before: “Contributions are falling out, because of isn’t that, focus on the fish or the meat!” the mini “seal plate”, which has always been handed to each dish, has caused great amazement ... “What should this be?” a quarter tomate, a slice of salat cucumber, rasp carrots, a hauch icebergsalat and a few honed carvings from red cabbage, the whole untreated, so nacky ... grins. and more? It is served here almost only with small potato chips or kartoffel chips, and this has also been forever... here too, the beira rio is in my eyes well-off from most restaurants in the quarter, they continue as before. without great concessions to the numerous tourist. my bacalhau (stock fish à casa (16,00 € had a wonderful consistency and was nicely juicy. the “Casa” sauce with a swash and garlic was very aromatic and dedicating, but far from covering the taste of the fish. from the chips I only ate a few... they shouldn't burden mine unnecessarily. and yet I didn't make my portion as usual, and I'm what you call a good eater. my tablelor had ordered the cannon in a tonpot, I was allowed to taste and then wanted to put myself in the wonderful sauce, which was characterized by a good but inferior sharpness ... maybe next time. or do I then take the lamb chops that, as usual from the south, can keep their fat edge and are so sensationally delicate, or the unbeatable fresh grilled dorade, which usually finds itself on the special map? or, or, right? I have to return here more often..."
