"on Saturday with a group of friends and the waiting was out. no problem with it, it is a popular place, but they clearly prioritize the online orders via the guests in the actual restaurant. While we were out in the waiting queue, we had to move constantly so that the drivers could come by. they let us know that there would be a delay at this time. well again, it's a Saturday night. after approx. 20 minutes waiting time I wait inside but had to wait next to the table, where they kept the ripped and delivered, so that we stayed on the knock again or had to move to make a place. when we sat, we ordered our drinks and appetizers together, then the drinks all came to a time, with one of the juices lasted about 20 minutes. at this point the rest of us have ordered our second round of drinks. then about 25 minutes later came the first starter, we decided to order the net then. then came 45 minutes later 2 of the others. then my head came, but the other three didn't come half an hour later, another one came in, and then one side. after we asked, the last remaining starter came out. all starters were disappointing. the gyozas were warm inside and cold outside. in the meantime we saw the feeder filters in and out while the delivery area was constantly emerging. By now, the 3 tables came in immediately around us all, ordered, eaten and paid before we had made our second main and at least two of them complained while we were sitting there. at the end we left and went to the pub so that my remaining friends could eat. to connect, give up and leave almost 3 hours were past. the waitress was beautiful and removed the items we were waiting for, and those who were going forward, because we were not satisfied with the quality. but I felt bad for her because she had to apologize for us a dozen times. they gave us open that we had a much better service, and they could see that they were rushed by their feet. overall the place had run badly, deliveroo drivers were prioritized instead of the guests in the venue, the eating was not on scratches and it was the rush of their feet in front of house personnel who must carry the boarding of it. save the time, nando’s is 10 seconds to walk away."

"Having eaten at Mr. Kerridge’s ‘Butchers Tap’ the previous evening and on advice from friends in the area Tammy and I dropped in to sample the delights of a first visit to a Michelin starred hostelry. The fact that we could literally walk in without a reservation was a clincher for us and we were greeted by friendly staff. The surroundings were great and the highlight was being able to watch head chef (and recently crowned Michelin Young Chef 2023 Sarah Haywood oversea and prepare the goodies on offer. Her relaxed attitude was admirable and the food was so quick to arrive that it was impressive. So why not 5 stars from me. The food was filled with strong flavours and presented well. I can’t put my finger on it but whilst I accept it is a small plates restaurant and we have visited many across the UK with food equally as impressive, we just felt that the selection was maybe too limited for all dining tastes and maybe the whole experience a little staged and didn’t concentrate enough on delivering innovative tastes commensurate with the Michelin star. Please don’t let this put you off though. As we all know, food and taste and of course dining experience is very, very subjective and you may disagree. For me though, I preferred the exceptional offerings at the ‘Butchers Tap’. In any case, enjoy your visit and have a great evening if you choose to visit."

"It’s our (very) local pub and has undergone several reincarnations in recent years. The new managers/owners look to be putting a lot of work into it and we have had a good report. So thought we’d give it a try for lunch as the signs say food served from 12:30 The first thing to notice is that it looks and feels cosier inside than it ever has although the Christmas decorations may have helped. A log fire being lit would have been the icing on the cake for me personally. The sole lady member of staff was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately lunch was a tad disappointing. The Christmas Menu was referred to but was apparently roasts only and to be honest it wasn’t clear if it was available or not. It seemed that burger and chips was the only thing on offer. Not what we’d anticipated or expected but thought we’d give it a try, as let’s face it, you can’t beat a good burger and chips. Unfortunately we didn’t get one. Supposedly we should have had coleslaw (I say supposedly as we’d not actually seen a menu) but this was unavailable so we had cheese added to the burger instead. Not a problem though. Portion size was OK. The chips were great. The burger itself, sad to say, was average at best. Having seen no menu and therefore no food prices we don’t know what the burgers cost, only what the food and drinks together cost. Overall, given the quality of it I’d say the price slipped in somewhere between ‘slightly dear’ and ‘about right’ So, first impressions of the “new” Green Dragon? Definitely worth returning for a drink for the coziness and friendliness, but the food needs to be sorted out both in terms of what is actually available, visible menus, and more importantly, quality. It’s a shame as we so wanted our inaugural visit to the pub in it’s current guise to be a perfect one. As the food was the main reason for visiting I’m afraid it’s got to lose a couple of dots on the rating"
