"In 2016 the tea was splendid. This time it wasn’t. Both the gluten free and regular tea offerings were poor. My gluten free bread was dry and the few pastries were unimaginative. A bowl of berries, two pastries and three tiny scones, with a small pot of jam and clotted cream on a cake stand.The regular tea also had minimal choices. My expectations were high based on my previous visit. That time, the cake stand was full of delicious pastries and the service was superb. I mentioned this to our waiter when he asked if my visits were comparable. Our waiter was friendly, but didn’t offer to replenish our tea, forgot my wine and disappeared for at least 30 minutes towards the end. It was very disappointing, especially for a 5 star hotel. I do not recommend afternoon tea here and will not return."

"excellent pub in holland park. the ambiente is excellent in a beautiful, picturesque environment full of flowers in the garden and cozy in the inner. the food was delicious while on the pricier side, as expected for holland park, the dishes were made with fresh ingredients and full taste. do not miss the trufflemac and the cheese and the cabbage! reservations accepted inside, but terrace is only too foot. an improvement would be the expansion of their non-alcoholic beer assortment, which is currently only heineken, so not great, but hopefully in the run of time. the staff was also super friendly and attentive, highly recommended."

"I had dined at this restaurant before and had a good experience. However, today was a different story. The waiter, who appeared to be in his early 30s, was extremely rude and abusive, which led me to leave. When I mentioned writing a review on Tripadvisor, he threatened to involve the police, resulting in even more verbal abuse. It was disappointing to encounter such behavior when all I wanted was a peaceful meal of sandwich and coffee. The manager was present during the initial abuse but did not address the situation. Instead, I decided to go to Flying Horse where the staff was delightful, and I enjoyed a great sandwich and coffee without any mistreatment."

"We got out there early around five and waited for them to serve at 5:30. I think it was Monday. It really was one of the most forgettable meals we had our whole time in London. To me everything tasted like it was leftover from the day before. Nothing tasted fresh. I had the Indian food. I thought I should write this review because somebody else said it was the best Indian food in London and I had been eagerly waiting weeks to eat there and I was so disappointed. On the positive side, the people that work there were nice and the atmosphere was great."

"A Hidden Gem of an Italian Restaurant in London We stumbled upon this Italian restaurant recently during a family break in London, and what a fantastic find it was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. It felt like having a meal with old friends who genuinely wanted to ensure we had a great time. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, bringing smiles to all our faces—especially our very tired 10-year-old daughter. They even went the extra mile to set up a chair for her teddy bear, which absolutely made her day! The food was delicious, but it was the exceptional service and welcoming vibe that truly made this one of the nicest family meals we've ever had. We left with full hearts and bellies, grateful for the accidental discovery of such a lovely place. We’ll definitely be back next time we're in town!"

"If you are looking for a lovely café where to have breakfast, I recommend Cafe Phillies. Lovely food and atmosphere and very friendly service. The pastries and pancakes looked delicious but I opted for the granola with fresh fruits and coconut yoghurt which did not disappoint. It was delicious. The turmeric latte was also delicious and served nice and hot, the way I like it. I will definitely go back next time I visit London."

"lots of good reviews and hotel recommended. i found it just. fine. wish i could give it 3.5 stars. they were very accommodating for me (working on laptop, and wanted a slow pace of mains, they were happy to help). also made sure what i ordered were cheese/milk free. Also made me a cocktail that wasn't on their menu. all much appreciated. the appetizer foccacia was excellent and if i weren't hiding from cheese the pizza is probably terrific based on the bread alone. unfortunately the pasts was extremely bland and served cool (i am assuming it was waiting for me to ready to eat). ordered some wine and it took more than 20 minutes to bring. i appreciate the staff were very busy with take out orders (there were MANY queued up), i just found it unfortunate to have no water, wine, drink with dinner. so honestly, i wouldn't recommend going out of your way, but if you are nearby it's a fine option. 3.5 out of 5. if it's not a dietary problem for you, just stick with pizza oven items, they did look and smell terrific."

"I been on a hunt for a fine Turkish kebab for many years in London, and I think I finally find one in Fez Mangal. Locate near Ladbroke Station in Notting Hill, this place isn't your standard drunken greasy kebab take away, but a proper Turkish BBQ restaurant which provide quality kebab and BBQ dishes. The place itself is actually very stylish with unusual wallpaper and design with a massive grill at the front, which is where all the magic happens. We ordered a mixed doner kebab , which came with salad and rice, And an interesting dish of Yogurtlu Chicken and lamb Shish with fresh tomato sauce, yogurt and butter. "Went for brunch with my family on Saturday lunchtime before visiting an exhibition at Kensington Palace. I had the vegetarian breakfast along with a lunchtime **** Mary. The food was plentiful, with a variety of items, and wonderfully cooked. I enjoyed it very much. However the **** Mary was something else, it really was the BEST **** MARY I HAVE EVER TASTED and I consider myself a bit of an expert having tried many over the years. I told Fiona this and she asked me if I would personally say this to the lovely young guy who had just learned to make them, which I did of course. I thanked them both very much as they are made to Fiona 's exclusive secret recipe. If you love **** Mary 's you must try Ffionas along with some of their excellent food and fantastic service."

"Found this niche restaurant on the way to the Royal Albert Hall. Menu looked simple, but refined. Asked for a table and thankfully the Manageress squeezed us in on Mother's Day. Squeezed us in? We were shown to a fine table with ample room and...fantastic surrounding decor it will take you back 55 years into a barn! Gratis bread and croudites to start. Sausage and mash and the wife had the chicken. Perfect dinner. Ted was our waiter polite, professional, yet friendly. Couldn't fault the restaurant, the chef, the host, the waiter or the food. 10 out of 10. Thank you Maggie Jones."

"Italian is by far my most preferred cuisine. I am often hesitant to have a seafood marinara as restaurants are always generous on the pasta, but limited on the seafood. Caraffini’s iteration truly goes above and beyond. There was a large variety of prawns, muscles, and octopus, and more than a few pieces of each. The flavours were tremendous, not overbearing and complimented the natural flavours of the seafood. Staff were polite, courteous and accommodating. Often checking in to ensure that your needs were managed. Thanks for the tremendous experience."

"We went there Saturday night for a meal as was highly recommended to us! Although no one else in restaurant there was 4 tables reserved so thought it was popular. The chicken tikka balti dish came out in a ceramic dish not a normal metal...balti dish. There was no sauce at all just soaking in oil! Not nice to dip a naan in to! Upside service was very good but maybe that was because we were the only ones there and by the way they shut at 11pm we left at 10.15 and none of the reservations had turned up by then! "

"After seeing many photos of the viral hot chocolate at this restaurant, we decided to book a table to end our day in the city. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were completely ignored by the two men at the front desk who were speaking to each other in another language and did not acknowledge us. After waiting for them to finish, one of them finally greeted us but then abruptly asked if we were willing to pay a minimum of £50 each, which was not mentioned on their website or in any of our booking confirmations. Unable to prove this, we left as we were not prepared to pay such a high price for a hot chocolate. We were disappointed by the poor treatment and lack of communication. As someone who has frequented Jumeirah hotels in the UAE, this experience was the worst in terms of service. The minimum spend policy was not transparent, and we were left feeling misled. It is important for customers to be informed of additional charges before making reservations."

"First time trying out the restaurant and we wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic food; we like to share and the table was perfect for sharing. Mixed starter, madras and chicken tikka 10/10. The best however was the service. John and Royce looked after us. They were full of character but also very professional. As a trainer of customer service this is exactly how to be. Both represented the restaurant in a very positive light. Location is perfect and so close to everything in Canary Wharf. Looking forward to coming back again very soon."

"Starts with lukewarm, dry wry put upon smile for the job at reception with a girl who kept ducking down behind the desk to east food and cough respectable lol the men all huddle round the centre console, getting their attention takes a while; more attentiveness to diners would be appreciated!: Food: nice soft creamy paneer, medium spice butter chicken, not so flavourful, mild ish spice, needed all the extra sauce to make up for it, there was loadsa sauce, plus points for both dishes. Naan bread 1 x butter naan ofc, v buttery. Plain Naan, burnt hard crispy Nice ish virgin mojito colada : low lighting internally, bit too dark for me, but nonetheless, fine. toilets spick n span, fully stocked with clean wrapped bound toilet rolls, no spillages on the floor anywhere, sink: greasy/oily cream, in nice big glass brown coloured bottles: and good liquid hand soap in the other bottle: I saw a table next to us was given a free lil lemon looking sorbet with chocolate 'Happy Birthday ' written on the plate; they were happy the bday girl looked happily surprised. wish they had that indian, after dinner, multi colured mouth refreshment seeds etc to take as u leave the restaurant. wont be returning: we walked here as the Dishoom was an hour+ wait! Great restaurant! they have the extra personal touch of so many things, which Zaika crucially miss! only one wait smiled really, lovely smile from the lady who was a waiter, from all the staff that was noticeable, just 20/30s aged waitress and a coupla older men who seemed to run the service there. 3.8/5 :D <3"

"I am going to post my âtrip advisor review â because honestly I have given this too much time already. No word from my personal email to the restaurant. Vacillating between Terrible and Poor This is probably my meal at Tom's Kitchen since it opened. I am a huge long time fan of Tom Aitkens, his innovative delivery and passion about both fine food and food for the people. Some years ago he had a Fish Market/ Fish and Chippery a bit down the road on Cale Street. I have a huge amount of respect for his dedication towards sustainable food sources and sustainable fishing.. BUT if this was my meal at Tom's Kitchen this meal and the meal about months ago fall into the basket of the worst dining experiences of the Century. I only rebooked because I received an email in October that their difficulties had been sorted out. Apparently not as the meal was not only deja vu but worse. We were seated at an awful table away from the main part of the dining area despite having booked about weeks earlier. No one was seated near us for the duration of our meal. We were served the wrong bottle of champagne and when we pointed this out there was a bit of a scene. The service was very slow, and the food (well it was a Monday but the fish and chips had a fishy suspect flavour). We were actually about to pay and leave before our food arrived hoping to walk into. nearby Thai restaurant but the food arrived before we could ask for the bill. I don't know what to say. I can neither recommend the restaurant or ever even consider returning Date of visit: December"

"Really really disgusted by the customer service, stopped by with my parents, half of the restaurant was empty due to the bad weather condition. We had waited 10 minutes at the door outside and then was seated outdoor, when waitress (or manager not sure) came to our table, I kindly said that we all want a bottle of wine with starters as a start, she very rudely told me to leave as the table was for dinner, did not offer another space, she left the table without an apology. I have never seen anyone this rude. Absolutely upset by this type of manner. Never ever going there again and will recommend everyone I know not to go."

"So I've been going to this shop since my Teenage years, now I'm an adult. I love how it's an authentic Turkish restaurant run by a Turkish family. Good people serving good food. I have friends that travel for 20 minutes for their special home made Chilli sauce. For sure it's worth a try. It's a nice family run shop which the family still work hard on. In fact I grew up watching them develope it and can tell you the quality has not slipped, only improved. Good food at fair prices. Will surely be back soon."

"Reservation time was not honour even I have been waiting patiently for 35 mins. Over the phone, requested reservation at 6:30 pm, got told that can only take at 6:45 pm and Booking will be held for 15 mins. I have arrived at 6:25 pm and was told that My booking is at 7pm. Which is not a problem as I am still waiting for my party to arrive. 7:10 pm, still was not seated, i told the host that our friend will be coming soon and we are ready to order. The host said that he won’t give us the seat if the whole party is not here. During 35 mins that i was sitting there, so many walk in client came, they get the table before us even when they are still waiting for their friend to join I told the host that but we have reservation. Then he reply, it doesn’t matter if you have a reservation not that you paid any extra money for it. We returned the menu and of course walked out. I have been to the restaurant so many times and recommended so many friends and clients. There will be no next time. There’s no service mind and the host attitude is out of this world. Wondering how on earth the business still running."
