"Just found this place today when looking for somewhere a friend and I could meet up for coffee and lunch and I wish I had found this place sooner!! Amazing! Only a small venue but clearly popular and deserving of its popularity. We arrived and chose a table upstairs. You have to order downstairs at the main till .but everything is brought to your table once ordered. The food is brilliant. We both ordered the smashed sweet potato with pesto, feta cheese and poached egg on toast, very reasonably priced too. The food was fresh, well cooked (poached egg cooked to perfection), good portion size and very well presented, tasted beautiful. We stayed for additional coffees as well as desserts. The Lemon tart is lovely also. Service was great. The lady at the till point was so friendly, the team serving and clearing tables were the same. Lovely little place, glad I have found it and will be back very soon. Thank you.x"

"We booked a table last night for 6 adults and a 6 month old baby. From the second we arrived they asked did we want a high chair but then complained there was no room for it to be at the table. We were then rushed to order our food by a waiter with a bad attitude. Then all 6 of us ended up eating our cold starters separately after waiting around 45 minutes for the first one to arrive. My plate had sauce on it from a previous order which clearly proves the plate hadn’t been washed properly!! We all finished our starters and had been staring at empty plates for another 40 minutes. We were then asked by another rude waitress if we were would like more drinks to which we replied can we ask how long the main courses will be please? To which she responded with a bad attitude and told us she had been waiting for us to finish our starters!! At this point I was feeding my 6 month old son and she very aggressively starting collecting plates leaning over my sons face!! I then spoke to the manager about the poor service and attitude from the staff, and was again approached by the same aggressive waitress shouting in my face. She then stormed out of the restaurant and as we were leaving she was smoking a vape at the side of the building and past another comment under her breath! Because of this certain member of staff making us all feel uncomfortable we won’t be returning and it is somewhere we have been going as a family for years! The whole place has gone down hill!!"

"Attended with a party of 5 adults and 2 children. Only 4 of the adults meals were ordered. With 4 of those orders 2 of them were wrong. We had to ask staff to correct the orders. Then we waited over half an hour to be told only 4 adult meals were ordered and had to wait for the 5th meal to be brought out and everyone else had finished their meals."

"on Sunday for lunch with my daughters at 12 o'clock. there was an extremely small selection of brot and in very small amounts. I asked the question: “Is one of these brote cooked today?” I did not want to remain crusty yesterday. the answer, the one. I got was “No we haven’t prepared a fresh brot yet...” the load is open for 2 hours? I'm sorry, subway. it doesn’t matter to pay for a few sandwiches 12 pounds, but they can give me and their customers the curtesy and keep them on their day line of “eat fresh”. for the plate we choose elsewhere with our business."

"Came to The Village Hotel Liverpool for Sunday Carvery and only have one word.....amazing! Arrived first of all to the Public House which was busy and had a nice atmosphere. We were lead through to the Restaurant by Amy who was very helpful and explained everything to us in regards to the Carvery! The soup was brought to the Table (delicious) and everything else is self service. There was a large selection of Cold starters available which again were delicious and were very well presented. The Carvery was hot and plentiful and presented really well could not fault a single thing! The Apple Pie at the end was a nice touch and lots of other dessert selection including an ice cream machine which was really good for the kids! After the Carvery we went through to the Bar for the quiz which we really enjoyed and even came 2nd! Well done Village Liverpool you have excelled yourselves once again!"

"I have visited here many times in the past and all was ok. I Recently took my family for breakfast brunch and experienced the most awful and downright rude customer service. The place is overpriced for what it is which is now looking tired and not so clean. Coffee was weak like water. Food shoved at you like your an inconvenience and then snatched away without asking if you have finished. The children put their cutlery down for a second no toddlers kids cutlery offered either and plates picked up by rude older woman staff member who clearly needs importance of customer service training. When I asked her for something that was missing from my little grandsons breakfast she raised her eyebrows at me like I had asked for the crown jewels . This was meant to be a treat for my family and we were made to feel like we were in the way. We will never return to this awful place and will tell everyone else to avoid at all costs. I will be spending the money in future where its welcome and deserved."

"A friend recommended Oriental Tea House to us several months ago and we finally decided to give it a try. We are completely hooked now! The won ton soup is absolutely delicious, as are all the other dishes we have tried. We used to only order takeaway from time to time, but now we find ourselves ordering a couple of times a week. We highly recommend this restaurant."
