"We were having dinner last night with my son. We took a octopus salad and doughnuts to start. The salad was good and well served, octopus tomatoes and vegetables, the 6 doughnuts were accompanied by a tomato sauce. Then I took a very good day of calf and my son continued with a back of grilled daurade. on the other hand to 26 € the dish I expected to have a good portion of fish !!!! The dish came and fortunately my son helped me finish the calf cheeks! to 120€ added for two I found this very light ...."

J’ai eu la chance de rencontrer des artistes qui venaient eux-mêmes déguster la délicieuse cuisine proposée. La carte du restaurant L'Escale est un bel hommage à la tradition culinaire corse, tout en apportant une touche de modernité. Les plats préparés avec soin mettent en valeur les produits locaux, frais et de saison. "I was enthusiastic in getting to Paco, according to the reviews on TripAdvisor, and willing to taste its famous Paella. I've been living in Spain for a time, and know rather well the difference between a good paella and a "touristic" one.The disappointment was enormous. The rice was blatantly overcooked and with no flavour. The shellfish was of low quality and not so fresh. This is even more insulting thinking about the high price (26€ per person) they ask for this "speciality".When, after having asked the bill, I tried to comment with the waiter (who asked "all right?") about the reasons of my disappointment he listened for two seconds and simply went away with the money: customer care is probably a remote concept for this place.I did not try other food there, but if this is their publicised speciality... reach your own conclusions!"

"We had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table and it's not peak season and it was Monday so we thought that was a good sign as it looked liked locals and tourists were at the tables. The staff were very pleasant and let us know when the table was being set up. Our food was super. My husband had the grilled whole Dorade (fish) which came with fresh asparagus, tomatoes and sweet potato. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked and attractively presented. I had the salad of grilled vegetables which was delicious. A glass of Rose and the best coffee we have had in France so far. Situated close to the beach and market place and with car parking nearby this proved a fantastic find."

"Needed a lunch stop before lunchtime finished so Via Mare was convenient even though I had some reservations given the mixed reviews. Well the setting on a terrace practically on the water with lovely views of L’Ile-Rousse definitely counts for something. I had a salad which was absolutely fine but nothing more and it seemed pretty expensive for what it was at 17 Euros. Service was good. If you want a lovely setting and ok food then go but don’t go if you are more concerned with having fabulous food."

La cuisine excellente, les pizzas sont à tomber par terre pour seulement 10 euros sachant à l ile rousse c est quasiment impossible à trouver à ce prix là. Les toilettes sont super propre.
