"This restaurant was recommended to a colleague and me by our German host. It was only a few minutes walk (10-15 minutes) from the hotel to Linde where we were. Note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. The restaurant is located in a historic old building with magnificent wooden beams and columns. It claims to have been a family business since 1558. The restaurant will enter through a beautiful old courtyard, which would be a cool dark oasis on a hot summer day. Upon arrival we met a coach party leaving the restaurant, so we really did our entrance. We noticed that several tables were reserved, so it is obviously a popular restaurant. We managed to find a table and our order was accepted. In the evening we saw no sign of male workers – all cooking and serving seemed to be done by three ladies who could have been of a family, as we thought we could see face similarities. We were served by a middle woman who first seemed rather brutal with little English knowledge. That's why I quickly picked up my trusting German phrasebook and dictionary and translated the menu and what to say. We were told that the Rump-Steak was excellent, so we both chose this and ordered our steaks as we liked best in our badly pronounced German. However, we ensured that our order was understood by referring to the relevant words! First, we had a salad dressed in an excellent Vinaiigrette. The Rumpsteak came with fried onions and potatoes. It was delicious and cooked for perfection. Very delicate. It was very well washed with a local red wine, full of fruit and with just enough body. We fascinated a dessert and chose something we thought the black forest torr. It was close, but not quite gateway. When we later, in the United Kingdom, told about our experience, there was a better German speaker that a better translation was black forest cups or goblet. Whatever it was. Cream slurries cover a lot of black cherries and ice cream with plenty of liqueur – seriously alcoholic! We were one of the last people to leave the restaurant, and we assume that by the efforts to speak in German, we were warmly welcomed by all employees. The staff had definitely warmed us in the evening. We drove back to our hotel, which enjoyed a wonderful last night on our business trip. We both recommend this restaurant, which also has a separate guest house with about 8 rooms. We will definitely return. The restaurant is a good alternative to the in Karslruhe itself. It is easy to reach this restaurant of Karlsruhe with the tram (S5 line)."

"God! for some years we have been spending new locals with the Sling block. we have found so many great restaurants that we have visited regularly since then. Yesterday we landed in el bandido in berghausen. we had reserved tel and in this telefonat already pointed to the Sling block. we were happy about the cozy beer garden away from berghausen. the bar was a little excited, but we felt comfortable. That was okay. we were asked three times in the night if we had reserved. the place was half empty when we arrived and no longer filled it. However, this question was asked again when we paid. apparently the slemmerblock would not have been accepted otherwise. this approach was a little strange and we had never experienced it. when I mention that I am a slemmerblock customer and my order is recorded, it doesn't have to be a problem anymore if everything in everything was somehow strange and annoyed. In addition, we were called to eat out of the service that we could still have bread, we just had to divorce. this brot was finally on our bill with 2.30 euro! whether we had to pay the broth, so that the el bandido regains the money from the Schlemmerblock election period, or whether they are always deducted from this type, we do not know. we had already thought of it when we would come back during the meal that was not bad, and whether we should bring the next time, friends, family or the deal. because of the entire process, this will not see us locally, but again. we ask ourselves that there are still gastronomy that do not seem to understand the senses of the Slemmer block. a bissel-friendship, good eating and good atmosphere and they win so playfully easy new guests. it will not be forced to participate locally in the slemmerblock, but in the el bandido they have as a customer the feeling it would be like! only 15 km away and we will not see each other again!"
