"First of all this restaurant is NOT in Carcassonne - it's at least a 20 minute drive outside Carcassonne on the way to Lagrasse, so it's a drive with a good sat-nav (and a nominated driver!) or a pricey taxi ride. Not sure why Tripadvisor thinks Pradelles en Val is in Carcassonne...Anyway whichever route you take, take it because this is probably the best restaurant in the area outside of Gilles Gujon's very expensive and historically wonderful restaurant in Fontjoncouse. Bourdasso is an excellent family-run Italian in a beautifully restored old building which can also hold private parties and events. Fresh ingredients - they have their own herd of buffalo - a short seasonal menu, excellent wine list (you can't beat a glass of their chilled processo on a warm evening) including their own Tuscan red which is - hate to admit it in France - fabulously fruity and rich plus the best coffee anywhere. Service is friendly and the family will happily chat about their food, how they ship in their charcuterie from Italy every week and the joys of keeping the buffalo with water supplies from their own well. Yes I'm raving, it's that good."
