"Although we are in the station we have discovered this restaurant whose comment can only be praiseworthy. a little-provided card because it presents you home-made dishes of remarkable quality. We ate there three nights during our week stay. First a very warm welcome that gives you the impression of being with friends.Secondly a local cuisine with mastered quality products. Our first meal was swans (if I remember her name) with exquisite scent accompanied by an exceptional sauce salad and very good quality regional charcuterie. The second is a scented savoyard. And to finish the menu composed of a trilogy of times exponentially scented fat (our most beautiful discovery) then a piece of the butcher mastered in the way of the greatest accompanied with vegetables and potato concoillote sauce. All these meals ended with homemade desserts that enchanted us (e.g., "a slaughter). We have accompanied our local wines of very good quality.Thank you very much to this couple who have whispered our taste buds. We have rarely been surprised!Although thanks to you 2 for sharing your passion for a quality cuisine. your attentions, your smiles, your complicity make your establishment an address that we are not ready to forget. "It's not the first time I come to this restaurant with my family and we're never disappointed. Pizzas, fondues, burgers and other specialties are just very well cooked. staff is very friendly, products are of quality and prices are correct. When I see comments say that the waiting time between meals is too long, I just want to say that we are in a restaurant not a fast food, and that there are still other people that we and everything is homemade. I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed."

"La Banquise sits at the Col de la Madeleine, a legendary Tour de France pass in the French Alps south of Albertville. The ride from La Léchère by bicycle or motorcycle is magical and is on everyone's lists of Alpine passes to visit. The intrepid...(or fit traveler will find his climb rewarded by spectacular views of snow capped peaks in all directions from the 2000 meter vantage point. Motorcyclists and bicyclists gather at the summit to enjoy the views and take a well deserved break. One of the rewards of making it to the top is lunch at La Banquise. We love it first of all for the views of the mountains from their outdoor terrace and lawn chairs. We have also been very surprised by the quality of the food. It's pretty typical French ski-station food really, but done very well. On a recent visit we had the Savoie burger basket, which included very high quality beef served on a fresh bun with Beaufort cheese and a slice of local ham. It was accompanied by a white sauce (don't know what it was exactly that was an ideal accompaniment. Green salad and home made fries rounded out the main course. The burger is one of the best I have ever had due primarily to the quality of the beef. Then we ordered a slice of blueberry pie. It wasn't a slice but a full one-quarter of the whole thing. Loaded with berries on a crisp pastry crust, the pie was delicious. They also have a selection of salads (for the cyclists drinks and flavored coffees. In short, great mountaintop lunch spot with extra-ordinary views served with a smile. I recommend it heartily for the hungry traveler."
