"From the time of arrival, the setting and the decoration let think of a meal with small onions. but the first cold shower: servers only leave room for a minimum union in terms of reception. Once seated, surprise to see that an error was made and that we were placed at a table that was not intended for us; The lack of professionalism is felt here. When the time comes to order, the choice is quick to the flagship dishes: between sea sauerkraut and Italian beef tartare, you will find it for all tastes as much fish as meat. and this very supplied card is completed by all homemade dishes and products of frank origin, or even local origin. Hat down to the chief! However, what was our dismay when a nearby table, which came before us, saw itself serving its dish even before we had our entrance. this being said, the honey goat whispers of the entrance are very well executed. but, as a cold shower from the beginning of the meal, two of the three entrance plates arrive with a whirlpool less than the third. we deduce that it is because they are part of a menu, unlike this third, ordered by the card. cruel lacks the still sense of professionalism that not having thought to balance the plates anyway. past these surprises, the rest of the meal takes place in an adequate way, led by delicious dishes, such as the Italian beef tartare that I recommend urgently! desserts don’t denotate in this menu that perfectly meets what you expect from a brewery on the canal like this. coming from a meal at the dock you’re globally satisfied, and you feel like having spent a good time in a friendly and pleasant setting, while having had for its money."

"After a evolution in management, and chef change earlier this year, this restaurant has changed dramatically. It was good before, but had a hard time finding it's "feet" (menu formerly had a bit of a Spanish slant). The new chef is fantastic, and while French, he also spent some time cooking in Canada. The dishes are fantastic, and varied. They reflect a more international experience, without giving in to a more Anglophone tendency to over-load the plate. On the contrary, the dishes are not only succulent and well-seasoned (featuring fresh local products), but they are all beautifully presented. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious there. They also feature seasonal menus, and have taking some risks also (like a brunch menu, which while delicious, I don't think they've had much traction with in an area with virtually no Anglophones - dommage!) As a regular customer, I have sampled the following: delicious French Onion soup, succulent lasagne di carne (winter menu). On the summer menu, I have had the Greek Salad, the Caesar Salad, the Chicken breast (from Challans) wrapped in smoked bacon with sun-dried tomatos and roasted garlic (delightful!), as well as the duck breast with apricots marinated in Amaretto. To die for. I also went for brunch and had the Eggs Benedict with local smoked ham, and it was delicious! They also feature a varied and interesting wine list, with some interesting choices by the glass. The service is "top-notch", and their desserts are delicious too. I highly recommend going. They are large enough also to do private events. As they are not located in the centre of town, nor on the beach, it may not be the most obvious choice for vacationers, but absolutely worth the detour to their location - Les Halles de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, a relatively recent renovation of an old warehouse block -- absolutely filled with fabulous providers of fish, a great butcher, great bakery, fabulous fresh produce, as well as several other interesting and delightful commerces. AND, they are located right next to Coté Biere Coté Vins, a very happening wine and beer bar featuring craft beers, a great wine selection and a lively bar, which is always packed. Don't miss it!!"
