"It was an average experience overall. The food was decent but nothing exceptional. We were in a hurry to leave for an appointment, so I paid at the bar to speed things up, which seemed to bother the wait staff. They forgot part of our order, but were apologetic and didn't charge us for it (although they ended up charging us in the end). It's not a place I would actively avoid, but not one I would go out of my way to recommend either. If you need a quick bite to eat, it's a decent choice."

"I am unsure of what has happened to this restaurant, but the quality of their chips, pies, and kebab meat has declined in recent visits. When I ordered fish and chips on Friday, I was given the option of a large or small serving. I asked what the difference was and was told the large serving had a bigger piece of fish. Despite the high price of £13.50, I decided to go for the large option along with curry sauce. However, upon unwrapping the meal at home, I was disappointed to find that the size of the fish was no different than a regular serving. The high cost and underwhelming taste have made me hesitant to return, and I may opt for Monica's in Evesham instead, despite it being further away."

"A proper genuine Indian restaurant. The staff here are fantastic, just the right amount of attention and speedy service. Great selection of Indian cuisine with a small menu of non Indian food to cater for everyone. We were a large party but the food came out all at once and the quality was superb. The spicy end of the menu left a warm sensation without being ridiculously hot, the naan selection was extensive and extremely tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any Indian cuisine lovers, booking is recommended as there was a busy bustle the whole evening we were there."

"This is a review based on a Just eat order. We ordered our food and no rice and the poppadoms where missing. After a 30 minute wait we got delivered the wrong rice and where promised a free meal next time if we call up. We then phoned up and got told yes no problem, when the driver got to the door he then told us he wanted money for the food! Rubbish service would not recommend. Service: Delivery"

"The food at the restaurant was decent, but the prices were very high for the portion sizes. The biggest issue was the attitude of the manager on duty that Saturday evening. Initially friendly and welcoming, her demeanor quickly turned condescending when we inquired about the delay in receiving our pizzas. We waited almost 50 minutes at our table with only bread, olive oil, and sporadic single tapas dishes arriving every 15 minutes for our group of six. The manager suggested it was our fault for not informing the kitchen that we were not sharing dishes, even though we were. It became even more unpleasant when we asked how to prevent future delays, as she rudely implied that the kitchen couldn't handle high volumes of orders. After nearly two hours, our main dishes finally arrived last, and we ended up settling a bill of £200. This was a disappointing experience, especially since Connolly's has been good in the past. This will be our last visit. Additionally, the support staff that evening could benefit from some customer service training. The tapas were placed on the table with a scowl and a rushed "Enjoy," as if they were trying to quickly serve us without engaging with us at all."

"this place is promoted as vegetarian and vegan friendly, proud to offer itself as the best selection of vegetarian and vegan foods in stratford. also on the menu they apply many of their products like (w.) most of their products are deep fritted, so I wanted to check that they used a separate frit for their veggie elements (that would certainly be the first thing a self-proclaimed veggie-friendly place would think.) I was told that all the fried foods are deep in the same frit eaten and therefore nothing is really according to the standards of each, at least one caffe that claims to be veggie / vegan friendly, this is 100% non vegetarian. the stormy part is the blatant false advertising. it is completely disrespectful and unprofessional to apply food as something that it is not, especially offensive to those with food and/or religious requirements. most importantly it is that it may be a very serious health and safety problem for people with allergies (as muddles). enough to say we will not revisit or recommend to others."

"visited this caffe after a year away due sadly we learned that the former very social owner had left in nov, but we decided to “enable it a hot tub”. our waitress was our main concern... although she looked young, so maybe it was lacking experience and education. she didn't greet us and just stood with us with her notebook. So I asked if food is still served, but you said that food stops are served very early for a Saturday, but I am sure that their trade statistics have regulated this. However, other tables were served cakes and roasted teacakes, but we were never offered as option. with retrospect we would have asked, but assumed that the waitress would have offered this as an option. then, while I was up to paying at the waiting time, I was not recognized, only given the price. There were no nice things like “was her coffee okay?” or “thanks” or “Hope to see you again” etc. in reflexion I will give it a chance and if the once welcoming and friendly atmosphere is no longer there, then I will take my trade to one of the many other caffes in alcester. as a shame as it was so beautiful in the past."

"Was looking for something different for lunch than sandwiches so decided on a burger. The next issue was how far did I want to travel to find one. Decided to ring the Kineton Chippy partly because it was 1:50 and though they might close. (Open 12 9 actually) and ordered a burger, salad, fried onions and burger sauce. Had thought it would be deep fried but I was pleasantly surprised when they cooked it in a hot plate. Food was ready, they put into tin foil as well to keep warm on the way home. Anyway, was a really tasty burger with fresh salad.. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will be back again thanks."

"I had a delicious and innovative meal at this restaurant. I ordered the Asian chilli cod and chips, which was fantastic. Despite it being a quiet night just after the new year, we were seated at a lovely table by the window. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I enjoyed the variety of fish dishes on the menu and would definitely recommend this restaurant. I look forward to visiting again in the future."

"only back from our two-day morning break, where we spent Friday and Saturday in this wonderful hotel. our room was spacious and well equipped with everything we needed, the staff was friendly, helpful and fun, very good service in the bar and restaurant, eating was delicious and imaginatiw; the hearthouse itself is really nice, the only side of this hotel for us were children and high times, a young child totally pampered the atmosphere in the drawing room on Friday evening by being loud, in which we had done until 9:30 clock to see if the parents could take the other problem with our stay was the sound of the high-time guests who would like to visit us again on Saturday night to the corridors. we had a few things that destroy our stay, but please don't let them stay here, it's a nice hotel and we would recommend it very much. many thanks to all employees (especially tim,) who made our stay pleasant."

"This colorful cat café serves afternoon tea and entrées amidst a space of a few adoptable cats. Most of the seven or so cats were chilling. Only the two to three kittens were actively playing under the influence of catnip. Customers are free to roam around the café and use the couple of toys scattered around. General admission for a 90-minute visit costs £6 per person. Even if not purchasing one of the packages that include food and beverages, you are free to order from the menu during the visit. My brother ordered a pot of Darjeeling Loose Leaf Tea for £3. When booking a slot online, you also select a table. From review recommendations, we picked Table 8 by the stairs for our 3:30 PM Thursday session. That day it was the table furthest from all the cats staying by the entrance. Two other parties were present when we came. A good number of tables were packed in the narrow room that I had to squeeze by just to sit down. It was sweltering outside and inside only had fans, so the enclosed space was slightly unbearably hot. Downstairs has a basement floor that was cooler, but only two cats were there, both of which were sleeping. We only stayed for forty minutes before escaping outside where there was at least a breeze."

"Went there because my son is a vegetarian and my grandson has allergies. Have been before but this is the worst meal yet. children's menu did not come with a drink (small soda with dash cost £1.25), the vegetarian burger did not come with all accompliments and was dry and tasteless (had extra slice of cheese which looked all dried up at edges), caeser salad lucky had the sauce separate disgusting, and the salad (lettuce) did not look fresh. Asked about allergy waitress brought booklet which was not that easy, asked her to check with chef ref bun on burger and chips apparently chef only been there couple of days and wasnt sure if there was cross contamination of chips (dairy allergy) or bun??? 3 children 2 adults £77 waste of money. complained to Vintage inns as soon as I arrived home no replies, so obviously they are not interested"

"We enjoyed every meal at this restaurant throughout our stay at Salford Hall. Ian was super friendly and most helpful with choices due to my food intolerance. The warm welcome from the girls at breakfast was much appreciated. The Eggs Benedict included the most perfect poached eggs and delicious hollandaise sauce, and together with 2 pots of tea, choice of toast with preserves and honey, it made a great start to our day. All the meals in the evening were so delicious. Fine dining but good portions and so flavorsome. The scallops were outstanding, the rack of lamb perfectly pink and you must try the crab starter. Creamy crab, and gin infused melon topped with trout caviar which burst with flavour on your tongue. The dining room which is steeped in history has a most relaxed and welcoming atmosphere so my thanks go to everyone that made our dining experiences so pleasurable. Excellent value for money."

"Booked a room here the day before arrival, which to be honest, due to circumstances beyond my control had to cancel early on the day before arrival. Arrived yesterday with my gf, walked into the bar, and ordered 2 drinks whilst saying I had booked a room. But which I cancelled but need the room now please if available. Bar man looked at me blankly and said your the guy who tried to cancel, I sad yes but now we do require the room. Sat down with drinks, to then have a woman (I presume the barman/managers wife) shuffle over to our table. After a long and boring conversation about who booked what and when and who cancelled and why. I said we do require the room after all, she then murmured something about having to put the radiators on then shuffled off. After shuffling back she she said “so you do want the room?” I said yes please if available, she said well can you pay now! In mid pint I do not like to be interrupted, so I said I will pay after I have finished my drink thanks…..shuffles off. Shuffles back…She then delivered the fantastic line “you don’t know whether your coming or going do you” I sipped my pint of neck oil and laughed and said “I do we’re going” and it is possible for someone to cancel and then rebook. We drunk up and left! Pros Lovely little resident dog think he was a terrier, nice lil fella! Maybe employ him behind the bar? Cons awful attitude from bar staff/management Very bates motel/hills have eyes vibe for the film buffs who may read this review. Typical small village pub/hotel locals all crowded rnd the bar with happy smiling shuffler above, then the your from not round here routine to me any my gf. Picked on the wrong guy here though! Recommendation We drank our drinks which were nice, then booked in one minute, to stay at meadow farm hotel. 1 mile away, Great smiley faces of staff greeted us on arrival, had a lovely meal and a few drinks. Room is clean, spacious, and value for money. Avoid the green dragon inn!! Much nicer places/ppl near by."

"Having passed the sign outside saying pop up restaurant, shop, etc we decided to go and have a look. This being a Saturday Not knowing what to expect we were really impressed by the buildings and presentation. Upon entering the door we were approached by a waiter who it turned was the owner. We explained that we had popped in to see what was on offer. Well it was like trying to extract blood from a stone, we really should have known. Eventually he did offer up information and as the venue was extremely attractive we decided to have a coffee and a hot chocolate, both fine. Whilst having our drinks we enquired of a female waitress if the restaurant did a Sunday roast. She confirmed they did. A little reticent we duly booked for 3 pm the next day a table for 3 persons. On the Sunday we arrived and were shown to a table set for 3 by the owner and we apologised that only 2 could make it. The extra place seating was begrudgingly removed. The change from 3 to 2 had not caused any rearrangement of table placement etc. As we were taking our seats the owner stated we have run out of Beef, no apology, nothing. My wife and I sat down and studied the menu. Having studied the menu to see that on offer was pizza, a salad, hake with rice and pasta. I beckoned to the owner and asked was there any replacement for the Sunday roast as there was no similar type dishes on the menu. The owners reply was gobsmacking. No there was no replacement/substitute, no apology and if we didn 't like we were free to walk. Not wishing to outstay our 'welcome ' we duly 'walked '. So we have a restaurant at 3pm on a Sunday running out of roast, the reason we booked, offering no apology , no appropriate replacement displaying a truely unbelievable attitude from the owner. As we left there were numerous other parties arriving, I hope they didn 't require a roast on a Sunday. I can live with stock shortages, but there are ways of dealing with a situation. What I cannot live with is an arrogant attitude from owners to their guests. This I cannot overlook. You might say a bad day at the office, but we experienced the same attitude 2 days running, there will not be a third. As it happens we are local and may have considered this location for our daughters wedding, absolutely not now. If the owner is interested we did get a Sunday roast at a nice pub/restaurant just up the road and yes they were busy."

"The Crown Inn has recently relaunched as a Cafe, as well as a pub. The decor is lovely, they have managed to keep it as a ‘good old pub’ whilst creating a relaxing cafe space at the same time. We ate outside, which was no problem (we were seated inside and changed our minds and sat outside next to a children’s play area. Today I sampled the cooked breakfast, as did my son and my husband had the Crown full English (big! whilst they did some chips for my toddlers. The breakfast was honestly the best full English I’ve had in a long time. It was nice to have one that wasn’t cheap meat etc. The bacon was nice and thick, the sausages were lovely (I will be asking where they get them from! and the eggs were so tasty and fresh. Bread that came with it was yummy too. What I liked the most was that it wasn’t really greasy like a lot of fry ups can be. Now, besides the food being delicious, the service was great too. We felt very welcome (with twin toddlers we don’t always feel like we can relax and enjoy and on that basis alone we would return. The pub is spotless (including toilets and is clearly well looked after. The decor has lots of personal touches, which is perhaps how they managed to balance the pub and cafe look! My only issue is I want to try 5 different things on the menu! Great jobs guys, thank you!"
