"Had a wonderful lunch at Oaklands Hall. Entertainment was provided by the lovely Natalie Cuifo (aka Ain’t Misbehavin’ The meal was scrumptious and a cut above. Where else can you get Monkfish and Thai crab cakes, on a February Sunday in Hyde? The meal was finished off with a super delicious lemon cheesecake, cheese and biscuits and coffee. We were well looked after with table service from the staff who I cannot praise too highly and led by Liv, front of house . I don t know how they do it for the money . The venue is highly appointed and we were treated like Royalty. I asked for a table near the talented Natalie and we were given a “killer position” right at the front . We were presented with a rose too which together with the complimentary chocolates was a nice touch for Valentines. Ain t misbehavin’ performed three sets and had chosen what seemed like the sound track to our life. Her pitch perfect singing voice is a given these days but with her mesmerising dance moves Natalie tells a story. She is of part Italian heritage and she uses the shaping of her hands in her performance to enhance the lyrics drawing you into the storyline. Her natural beauty is enhanced by some very impressive dresses . As it was a Valentine’s event the theme was love but she mixed it up with some high energy interpretations of some classic favourites enchanting her audience who were in raptures by the third set. We ve seen Natalie three times now and each show has been an individual performance. She surprised us today with an enchanting Scottish ballad. We spent 3 hours over an excellent lunch and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We are so proud of Natalie and feel so lucky we can see her in our own neighbourhood. She has a growing following so if you get the chance to see and hear this young talent go for it. Her act will stay with you long time . Thank you Oaklands Hall for booking her for your excellent venue."

"We knew it would be busy at Lymefield garden centre as they were serving Christmas lunch. Two drop ins were just being turned away at the entrance with very long faces because they forgot to book. (Rookie mistake) our table was waiting for us and we were greeted by the smiling face of Gemma who served us. Now I believe good service is second only to the food in the enjoyment of a meal. Every detail was perfect and I know about these things. At times it seemed a long wait to place our order, ask for something or enquire about the menu but I only had to look up and she was there. It’s not like the staff were nt busy as there was a table of 23 they were looking after. Little touches like being asked what kind of glass we wanted with our drinks is something of a bygone age. You d have to dine at the Ritz to get better service. At one point she was busy with the long table and I thought uh! She’s took her eye off the ball but Yvonne her team mate turned up as if to read my mind with my bowl of steaming rice pudding with winter fruits. Perfect for the coldest day of the year so far. Team work makes the dream work at Lymefield. It was a dream there yesterday. It’s in the most glorious setting . Surrounded by frosted fields the view was like the Christmas cards I d written that morning. My final word must go to the shop. The produce is farm fresh and I am particularly satisfied with the local Alma Bridge honey I purchased . It’s the finest I ve tasted. The clientele are mostly of retirement age as you d expect in the middle of the working week. I don t consider myself old but I am old school and Lymefield is the perfect way to get the seasonal celebrations started."
