"Maybe today was just the wrong day, but we had high expectations due to reviews. It turned out to be the greatest disappointment we ever had in eating in Scotland for almost 10 years Reception not unwilling, but no real time for customers due to lack of staff and tight schedule of reservations. Service hectic, unprofessional, no willingness to talk to us (foreign tourists not welcome? Noticed this also at other tourist tables... . Locals were told the whole board of specials, we had to go to the board. The restaurant absolutely crowded, damned hot and without any fresh air. Wine overpriced, quality of dishes less than average, not the level one would expect in regard to prices. Starters: Cullen Skink average and lukewarm, scallops also lukewarm and seemed to be not really fresh, not cooked to the point, pancetta not crispy but soggy. Mains should have been a half lobster. Well, served without appropriate cutlery, lukewarm and tough. In addition, masses of garlic chilli paste killed the flavour completely. This was the point where we left, Without having eaten mains we were just fed up!"
