"Came here with a group of friends and was very disappointed. I understand it’s a small, rural pub but I come from a rural area and completely understand some things may take longer when food and drink is served fresh but this was a bit ridiculous. Food came out very slowly and those served first waited at least 20 minutes for sauces whilst the other food came out. I really do think that when you know a large party is coming in water and sauces should be on the table as standard and you shouldn’t have to ask for it. The sticky toffee pudding when it came was cold and I notice that this is on several other reviews as well. Disappointing as sticky toffee was a favourite for many of the group. The cheddar on the cheese board was a thin shaving so we had to ask for more. Now I’m not one to over indulge and although the food tasted nice the servings are very small (especially for the price) and all of us had to go back home and have some snacks. I notice that small portions are on other reviews as well. Main lady over seeing things was rude and had a bit of an attitude about her which let the place down. The young lad who was serving us drinks was nice, helpful and smiley but was clearly under pressure. I would not recommend going here as a large group."

"I popped in for a freshly made cheese and pickle sandwich. In hindsight: I realise I was overcharged: £5 for two slices of white bread not very fresh) from a cut loaf packet of bread, average taste of the grated cheddar which was not particularly generous in filling and some Branston pickle added as filling. I should have tried one of their pasties that looked OK but pricier than say Greggs the bakers by far. Not good value at all. I won't revisit. At least the counter staff were friendly!"
