"Friends in the know urged us to stop at La Placette for lunch on our way back to Torino from skiing in Sestrieres. It was great advice, Usseaux is a charming old village and the lunch was worth going out of our way to find. The insala occitana starter (beets and their own potatoes in a delicate anchovie sauce) was perfect, and the gnocchi (again, with pride in their own grown potatoes) was the best we've had in our month in Piemontese restaurants. The bonnet was a very nice dessert as well. Very pleasant service."
