"We hadn 't planned on going into the town, so we had a bit of a wander and happened across Tantaluna. Despite us not having booked a table the friendly and accommodating staff managed to find us a slot and squeezed us in. First of all, the descriptions of the specials from our waiter were like a meal in itself, and I mean that in a good way they should sell CDs of just him describing dishes. Food choices done, and a nice bottle of wine recommended and we were off! We were given little amuse bouches of watermelon gazpacho with balsamic and croutons while we waited for our starters, and while they didn 't appeal to all of us (surprised me, I didn 't think I liked watermelon but I enjoyed it it was a nice touch of service. The starters were exceptional, scallops on a polenta and beetroot biscuit with pears (I think and raspberry sauce was top notch, and we persuaded our son to experiment with the tuna in wasabi batter (a.k.a. Holy Balls! and couldn 't resist assisting him with them ; For main courses, we had a fillet steak, the fancy fat marbled steak off the specials menu, and a spaghetti carbonara. A nice touch was that one of the staff came and showed us the special steak before it was cooked. The carbonara was a flavour bomb of intense meat. All in all, again, great cooking and delicious. The staff were attentive (but not overly so , friendly, and clearly passionate about their food. Naturally, all of this excellence doesn 't come cheap, but for a special night out or if you 're not planning on eating out for the whole week then it 's absolutely worth the splurge. Highly recommend this absolute gem of a restaurant, we 'll definitely be back the next time we 're in Correlajo."
