"Fantastic food (for the most part) beautifully served with incredible ingredients in an ambiance that feels cold and robotic. We had the full dinner tasting menu, setting us back 250EUR per person before tip and drinks. Judging by the food and presentation alone, this price makes sense given its 3 Michelin stars. The ingredients were fresh and top-quality, and some of the preparation was done meticulously by the waiters, table-side, which added to the overall experience. The amount of different dishes and drinks, from start to finish, was precise and left us full. However, when you go to a restaurant at this caliber you expect the full experience to be flawless and this is where things start to go wrong: we began with a tour of the kitchen, and ended up crammed in a corner where we were served three bite-sized dishes. We had our server wait anxiously by our side for us to finish before walking us to the table. We were then quickly presented with the menu and advised to not go to the restrooms before alerting the waiter because there is a very tight schedule for the dishes . The dishes were all presented to us with a very monotonic voice and it just felt like we were props in a larger show and expected to behave according to their schedule. This place is not for everyone and some people will find it disappointing. When looking at the entire night, we had a lot of delicious and creative food and eventually enjoyed our dinner. I do think there are a few key things left to improve and therefore the 4-star review"

"Anoche tuvimos la maravillosa experiencia de cenar en el restaurante El Timón ubicado en la costa de Barbate. Desde el momento en que llegamos, quedamos sorprendidos por la belleza del lugar. La cena que disfrutamos fue simplemente excepcional. Empezamos con una ensaladilla rusa que sorprendentemente era cremosa y deliciosa. Y con un brindis de dados de atún que fue espectacular. Continuamos con unas croquetas caseras. Las opciones eran jamón ibérico con alioli de menta y mitad de gambas al ajillo. Pudimos pedirlas mezcladas, lo cual apreciamos ya que de esa manera pudimos probar ambas. Y tanto una como la otra, se ganaron el título de las mejores croquetas que he probado. Las de gambas eran espectaculares, con un sabor que te hacía agua la boca, y cada bocado era una explosión de sabor a gambas al pil pil. Continuamos la velada con una pluma de jamón ibérico que complementaba perfectamente la cena. Y para rematar, los postres, una tarta Kinder y una mousse de Lotus, fueron verdaderos placeres para el paladar. Ambos estaban deliciosos y dejaron un dulce recuerdo en nuestra cena. En general, El Timón es un lugar que definitivamente recomendaría a cualquiera que visite Barbate. La calidad de la comida es excepcional y el ambiente a lo largo del paseo marítimo añade un toque especial a la experiencia. La única pequeña decepción fue que, a diferencia de otras mesas, no se nos ofrecieron los platos que no estaban en el menú. Y nos dimos cuenta al final de la cena porque se lo dijeron a una mesa que estaba junto a nosotros. Aún así, a pesar de esto, fue una experiencia culinaria maravillosa. ¡No dudes en probar este lugar si tienes la oportunidad, no te arrepentirás!"

"Hello Pocaburus! We repeatlocation and return to a magical summer night in Zahara de los Atunes. We visited the local @mezkla_zahara where tuna is once again the star of the menu. And is not for less. We start with the main dish: Tuna Tiradito with Nikkei Sauce. Sauce with a mixture of ingredients in the purest Japanese style so you don 't stop dipping in it. Roe, guacamole, purple onion and wakame garnish and pair the tuna which, needless to say, was spectacular. The nest of the Mezkla . We ordered it on the waiter 's recommendation, as it is the star dish of the house. The katafi pasta at the base simulates being the nest, providing a crunchy touch to the dish. Inside, the tuna is once again present in the form of a tartare. All of this is topped with a poached egg that the waiter breaks and mixes at the table, giving it that honeyed touch and intense flavour. To finish, truffle zest. It is not surprising that it is a dish that you must order no matter what. Falsa retinta lasagna. Thin and crispy dough on top and bottom. In its filling, meat stew with a brutal flavor. It 's a pity that we didn 't leave room for dessert because everyone was looking good.
