although the weather was not great, the employees were amazing and intentionally amazing. had a great time

Poor food, seems from yesterday the quality of the food. It is a lounge of a hotel with guests going for glasses of wine. Not fancy at all.

The sandwiches were quite dry, as if they had been prepared in the morning and left uncovered, rather than being freshly made. There wasn't as much variety compared to other afternoon teas I've experienced before. However, the selection of teas was excellent, and the view from our table of the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge was absolutely stunning, which helped to compensate for the lackluster food quality.

The food was dried out and clearly had set out for hours we sent our back as the sandwiches were rock hard. We then had certain items substituted and the tray returned. Even if the food had been good (which it wasn't) the tea was poor value. However, the tea (drink) itself was very nice and the waiter was very attentive.

The scones arrived 15 minutes later with the explanation that they were being warmed up. I suspect they were frozen scones that hadn't been given enough time to defrost and heat properly before being served alongside the sandwiches. It's also a warning sign when a restaurant is largely empty. This venue, capable of seating over 80 guests plus another 20 on the balcony, had no more than six patrons during our visit, including my wife and me. I've become skeptical about promotions on OpenTable, as they seem to originate from establishments struggling with business or lacking a loyal clientele—this particular visit was a 1000-point table offer. Overall, this was a complete waste of £60.

london is a city with great places to have the traditional English afternoon tea. sad, park plaza riverbank is none of them. at about £30 per person, their offer is so badly worth it is almost one. I had to ask her if it was a person. least afternoon tee for 2 for £60 should have 2 of each item. they had to get us some extra sandwiches, and the server admitted that he could see where I came from when I asked if this was for 1 person or 2. the scones came 15 minutes later. the declaration that they heated them up so they were warm.
