"After my visit to the wonderful archaeological museum of Lipari on the castell, I discovered the restaurant Al Pirata for a summer lunch in a very quiet location on the side of the Marina Corta (the island's ancient small fishing port . A great location and probably one of the most beautiful places right by the sea, well away from the touristy places in the middle of Marina Corta. This restaurant was a very pleasant culinary surprise for me. Al Pirata scores with simple but very good cuisine that every guest understands and appreciates. These three dishes convinced me: Polpo grill al tartufo su crema di patate allo curcuma (Pulpo maybe an idea not soft enough to be perfect! Linguine al ragù di totano all'eoliana. This plate tastes like a poem! For dessert, a Semifreddo alla malvasia di Lipari with croccante di capperi. The selected house wine went well with it. The very nice stay was marred by the host that day. Signore Graciano probably didn't have his best day and unfortunately couldn't develop any real empathy with the few guests and served in a rather monosyllabic and listless manner. Graciano made a real faux pas when he took the leftover white bread from my table and threw it into the sea right in front of my eyes, where the hungry seagulls immediately pounced on it. Graciano, you have to visit the Gastronomiche Benimschule again, please. Therefore two stars deducted for the service. Otherwise, Al Pirata is a real recommendation for connoisseurs who want to dine in a beautiful ambience."
