We had lunch in that restaurant after visiting Miramare Castle. The restaurant offers a local, friendly atmosphere in a side street. We reserved a table for four over the phone and that reservation was realized. Chamber ambience, Italian lively. Great food at a reasonable price. Recommendations from Croatia to everyone who goes to visit our dear Italian neighbors.

The front desk at our hotel recommended this when we asked for an authentic dining experience and we were not disappointed. Great service, warm cozy atmosphere and the food was delicious. The locals were enjoying themselves and we felt like we were part of the neighborhood crowd. The jota was a favorite as well as the squash gnocchi. Local wine in a carafe to accompany.

Visited for lunch one day and found the service to be particularly cold especially when I didn’t order antipasto, primo, secondo as is often expected of tourists in touristy cities. I had a plate of spaghettone with vongole (clams) and mazzancolle (oversized shrimp usually fairly close to a prawn, scampi, etc). The pasta was perfectly cooked and good quality pasta. Clams good. The mazzancolle we’re hidden when the plate arrived and was photographed because they were small and essentially shrimp. (I wish I got a photo). I spend a lot of time in Italy and eat often at the sea this was not what was expected. Perhaps because they thought I didn’t know better. Cake was fine. Wine and coffee fine.... Ver carta
