Extremely popular restaurant take away, my favourite chippy. Food is always delicious, staff always friendly

Place is legendary. I've been going since I was 6/7 yrs old after the swimming baths. Fish tea is famous. Staff are always friendly, and the decor is still very art deco and brings back long-held memories of visits I've made over the past 50 or more years. Highly recommended

This is a great little cafe which is attached to a fish and chip shop. You will be served traditional food, which I can honestly say is among the best chip shop grub in the entire country! The prices are very reasonable, the service is warm and friendly and the decor is fantastic! Well worth a visit! Ver carta

Just had a sausage supper and my son had a portion of chips. Happily answered my question about allergies (thank you) and the service was friendly and fast. The chips were delicious, crisp on outside and fluffy inside. Sausages were coated with just enough batter, not too greasy either. Best chippy in Paisley!

Alan's Snack Bar is an absolute gem, and my recent visit was made even more delightful thanks to the amazing Cameron in the kitchen. His dedication and warmth truly shone through in the delicious dishes he prepared. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was a truly memorable day. I can't recommend this place enough! I really like the place and the staff is very nice but... I had a deep fried mars bar with a French friend who knows the place very well she told me that I ansolutely have try that and that will cost us 50 p for it...and it costs us £1 each. My friend was a little surprised 2 weeks later, we came back, talked in English only and it costs us 60p.. We have been screwed but anyway I will come back there.. Ver carta

Popped in here for lunch after forgetting my sandwiches. I tend to be doing that a lot these days. I took away so in essence it's just your normal chippy. It has a nice wee cafe bit that you can eat in. Although I wasn't eating in this time I do like the concept of eating in a chippy. The memorabilia, old news paper articles and old prices on the wall are interesting and make eating in an interesting experience. Anyway back to the take away part. My first dinner in the UK: fish and chips of course. My aunt who is a local, has been visiting Allan's for over 15 years and has sworn that their fish and chips is one of the best in the city. And, she was right. Looking at their menu, they have a variety of fish and chips options, rice dishes, toasties and more. I decided to go for the small fish supper (one fish, chips, mushy peas, and a pot of tea). All of our food came out fairly quickly. This place reminds me of the Scottish film My American Cousins when the Italian Gangsters arrive at the Scottish Airport and the immigration official asks them if they are Fish or Ice Cream. Allan chose fish. It is very Italian and has the wonderful Scottish Italian Chippy interior. Lots of wooden decor with the massive fryer sitting like a Stainless Steel Altar along one wall. It is a thing of beauty in a very lovely place. I like these guys. They were my local chippy when I lived in Paisley and I would wander down, get asked how things were going.
