Allegretto Cafè Im Neuen Museum

Interesting building to relax. I shows the atmosphere of the old days with its high ceilings and the light of huge windows.

Nothing like a friendly Cafe to focus on your need for relaxation. The waiter was very funny, but professional and caring. It was very busy and most of the orders were filled quickly.

This cafe is at the far end of the ground floor. It is a long narrow room with high windows so not much view. we found the waiter friendly. We enjoyed tea, beer and cheese and ham toasties. A welcome break from our museum visit.

This coffee house is inside one of the museums. The location is very convenient for museum goers. The food is pretty good. I had the tomato soup. It tasty and nice. Nothing to complain about. Stopping here for refreshments before visiting the Neu museum was...very refreshing.

This restaurant/cafe is great as it's next to the river and ideal for a cute low-key meal. The pizzas they provide for just euros are delish. I would avoid getting a soft drink as the sprite is Euro which is horrendous value...considering that's not even a can of soda. We had lunch here on the day we visited the museum. The cafe is small, noisy and it was really busy. That said it felt like a really cheery place and the waiter was friendly and helpful. We ordered their toasted triple club sandwiches with...tea and coffee. The sandwiches came with tortilla chips and dip and were about euros each. Better than most museum cafes and the food is freshly prepared.

We were hot and tired after our hour tour of the Pergamon and Neues Museums and the cafe was right there. Tanya our server was fast and friendly, even tho it got very busy after we arrived. I had the tomato mozzarella sandwich which...was large but a little dry. Hubby had club sandwich which had mayo so was not dry. We loved their chips. The Appel strudel with vanilla sauce was great. We gave ourselves an extra hour in the museums by not having to leave museum island to look for lunch. We could put a tip on the credit card since we had run out of euros. Would definitely recommend!!

As for the food, it was ok. The range is poor, the quality of the food seemed good. I think I saw employees actually smile. And then we had to wait minutes to leave because out of the employees there only was...one person attending to customers paying. The waiter that served us was cold, blunt and rude. He kind of made us feel like we were an inconvenience. We watched him with other customers also, he kind of seemed like he didn’t want to be there what so ever. Honestly if everyone wasn’t so focused on aesthetic and more focused on customer service then we probably would have left feeling satisfied, instead we left with a bad taste in our mouths.
