"My wife and I were driving down from Otranto to Santa Maria di Leuca and were hoping to have lunch at a wine bar there that had been well reviewed on TA. Unfortunately it turned out to be closed. We were both tired, hot and grumpy and nothing else that we saw in town appealed to us. When we were researching possible places for lunch the day before we noticed this cafe also got great reviews. Therefore, even though it was another 10 minute further drive we decided to go for it... boy we glad we did: delicious Caprese salad with tuna, a tasty panini with local meat and cheese and a great local beer from Capo d'Otranto. Then came the best part: a trio of gelatos featuring chocolate, almond and fig and a third flavour I can't remember the name of but was just as yummy as the first two. As that apparently wasn't enough we also got a delicious chocolate and cream pasticiotti and a couple of Caffe Leccese. Wow! Marco the owner was so warm and hospitable, even though he didn't speak much English and our Italian is very limited to say the least. This for us was a reflection of what foreign travel is all about it can be a lot of hard work and aggravation but just when things seem to be going sideways you can have an amazing experience like this. "I was in this braceria with my wife behind advice of a friend, we took a Florentine of black angus from a kg, with baked potatoes contour and fries, the staff was really nice to recommend what to take but above all, having problems on cooking me and my wife, to meet our needs, we also tasted a couple of bombs, raw materials of excellent quality, just think you have the choice of tasted meat two We'll be back."

"We went with two families. The place is amazing in its simplicity and cleanliness ! We had the antipasto which was really tasty mostly vegetarian and had ‘primo’ of pasta with orecchiette cima di rapa, pomodori secchi and pinoli and we also had gnocchi with pumpkin and scamorza. Again everything was delicious. Our kids took a simple gnocchi al sugo (10EUR). We had few deserts (lo spumeno, which is a sort of a delicious semi freddo and sporcamusi again a tasty millefoglie with cream and lemon). Great environment, nice and helpful staff, but a bit overpriced. In total was 188 although after a small error we’ve got the difference of 18EUR. All in all still great experience! I didn’t see the rooms, but can imagine it’s worth staying there as well!"

"Abbiamo mangiato la sera in questo molto bello e ben curato per la posizione. Ci sono poche tabelle e quindi l'ambiente è molto confortevole. Per quanto riguarda la cucina era buono, ma alcuni piatti non erano al costo. La pasta con riccioli per esempio non mi ha veramente convinto.. Non era molto gustoso. Premetto che è un tipo di pasta che spesso prendo nei vari luoghi del mare.. il dolce invece era molto buono. ."

"BEST LOCAL FOOD EVER!!! Set in an old aristocratic house, historically restored....eclectic, cool, fun! (IGNORE ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS) We got here at 8:30, on a Sunday, and there were great people still rolling in at 10! We’re from California, we were referred to this Restaurant, which is a great way to find great restaurants...we have traveled all over southern Italy… This is the most excellent “typical” food, Buonissimo Wine selection for reasonable price, the owner Salvatore, doubles as an international linguist and is amazing chef!!! He comes out often to speak with you, serve you, making the experience very delightful and so accommodating!!! Excellent service, all bases covered, and staffed very well. You Can Not have a bad meal here!!! Remember, local, typical is usually some of the best food because they specialize in what’s typical."
