"Fantastic restaurant in central Toulouse. It's built over a 14th century bakery, with barrel vaulted rooms below, and a wine cellar. Very elegant, very cozy. Good for business groups as well as romantic couples. The owners are terrific hosts, very warm and friendly, and clearly proud of their restaurant. Our group of 8 was treated like royalty the whole time. The food is, as some noted, lovely to look at. I call it artsy fartsy. Where I disagree with others is the taste - I thought the food was outstanding. Presentation was over the top fantastic, the taste, smells and textures were all a delight. I had the lamb, very tender, very flavorful. My colleagues had the beef (tasted it - excellent but not as good as the lamb) and scallops. Everyone loved their food. So, to those who say the taste wasn't that good, maybe they had an off night. The wine list is sizeable, with a great selection. We had a burgundy and a white which I cannot remember at the moment - we asked for a Sancerre, but alas he had none. The substitute was, however, excellent.Prices are high but not outrageous, I've paid far more for far lower quality food and drink. Overall I give this a solid 5 stars and I will go back on my next trip to Toulouse."

Great food, great presentation and exceptional service. Meal is well proportioned and matched very well with the wine. Thank you

I know the price is quite high ( around 55 euros a menu), but if you can pay it, you surely must go! The best restaurant I've ever been to in France, no doubts!

Of course the food is very good. But moreover it is the the presentation which is most enjoyable. If you have problems reading the menu in candlelight the waiter will hand you a collection with glasses - no excuse to make the perfect menu choice!

My boyfriend and I went there for dinner last night. Everything was first class - the food, presentation, service. The couple who run the restaurant are delightful and the food was faultless. Great wine too. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.

What a meal and what service. This is like a top city restaurant but instead in a regional city - a rare find. The food was beautifully prepared, carefully served and excellent presented. It was a treat for all of our party. Expectations exceeded - cannot wait to get back. Service was also of a very high standard. Well done

Very welcoming couple. The Foie gras was a little disappointing by being flavourless. The Prawns on ripe mango were excellent. I've never eaten such a wonderful mango and the sauce went perfectly with the crunchy prawns. The steak was cooked perfectly--rare--and the tartar spoonful was very good. The rack of lamb--two thick chops--was very good, but I got the wrong end of the rack. It was very, very fatty. The sauce with Moroccan spices was very good. The scallops was found to be very disappointing by another guest. The duck confit loaf was also not enjoyed either. The exceptionally expensive wine list had some good choices, but all were over priced.

Quite possibly the best food I've had in Toulouse and entirely worth the relatively expensive menu price. The restaurant Anges et Demons is quite simply a treat for the senses! Housed in a beautiful old building, in and amongst the winding streets of Carmes, the restaurant offers a taste of Toulouse with class and elegance. We sampled the pork loin and the tuna mains - which were both amazing - before being blown away by the desserts. I had "The lion roars with pleasure" - which more than lived up to its name - and my wife had the Lemon Meringue tarte. The only word worthy of describing both desserts - both visually and in terms of taste - is "wow!".Although the meal was relatively expensive -...

Quite the most delicious meal for all the senses. From the asparagus veloute amuse Boucher to the chocolate spoon in the l'esprit de lion desert we were charmed and delighted by the beautiful presentation, delicious tastes, excellent combinations of flavours and ingredients and thoughtful considerate service from the staff. Just the most lovely meal. A real treat. As each dish came out we could hardly bear to spoil the presentation but we're to eager to discover the next flavour. Curried prawns on carpaccio melon. Lobster in a heavenly sauce decorated with little blue potato chips and deconstructed lemon meringue pie to die for. Expensive wine list. But just choose carefully and frankly this...

A small and attractive restaurant in lovely Toulouse, but one where we left feeling full but not overwhelmed by the taste of the food. There is an air of pretentiousness here and admittedly the food is beautifully plated but just does not reach the complexity or uniqueness to make this a memorable visit. The night we dinedlobster from Brittany was a feature and a living blue lobster was presented to each table as an enticement, but we saw no one order it.The wine list has an amazing array of wines from the south west of France and the Languedoc, so sampling wine from local vineyards is not at all a problem but the prices are. In general wines from these areas are relatively modestly priced i...
