"So a beautiful place, the atmosphere is great and the staff very helpful and friendly. It is located on a strip next to other Grottos, this was full compared to other restaurants, easy to say why. The food, taste the traditional dishes. Overall a beautiful experience. Parking is tight, so get there early."

"Beautiful location. Easily accessible and multilingual reception possible. Very friendly staff, but that's where my positivity ends. Mobile broken air conditioner on windowsill with all kinds of cables and hoses. About 80 cm next to the bed. If that thing falls over (I think it weighs about 50 kg) I immediately lie stiff in bed. Literally and figuratively. That thing cannot be adjusted and produces around 65 Db I think. Right next to my ear. The room itself is old (read antique) and very worn all around. The floors/walls/doors full of dirty dust and stains (let's hope not human moisture) I use an oxygen concentrator myself, but the filter will have to be replaced early tomorrow I'm afraid. After a bad experience with booking directly (yes, also here in Switzerland), I will never book anywhere myself but via Booking or Trivago, but this hotel is BY STOP the most unpleasant hotel I have ever stayed in. Had breakfast now, and it was delicious. Once again great staff, and a rich buffet. Less suitable for me, partly due to my poor lung condition (I barely slept due to very strong detergent from the sheets that caused several coughing fits) but also for the price. I paid half for the double points let's just say. Different preference for me."

"Food is great but be careful when ordering your meal. I had two kids and we asked if there’s a kids meal. They recommended that we order a steak good for two. Same way for for me and my wife for a grilled seabass since a single seabass is good for two. I am surprised when i saw the bill. It was 2xprice of an adult steak and 2 x the price of the seabass. Not happy with the price."

"Evening spent with colleagues. As soon as we sat down we informed the waiter that the number of people was lower than the established number. Consequently the waiter informs us that the kitchen closes at 8.30pm. The classic grotto dishes arrive (polenta, braised mushrooms etc. and so far so good except for the portions which were practically smaller than the people present. Two sliced meats... bread not even with binoculars and two pickles. Not to mention the meats... they seemed to have been reheated for days! In conclusion we were more or less all sick with stomachs without digesting. Absolutely avoid!"

"What a surprise tonight! We went to this restaurant which was recommanded by friends. As a family already coming to the beautiful mendrisiotto for more than 30 years and having friends and relatives here we almost feel like being locals. We love to go out...for dinner and really appreciate the local cuisine therefore we happy to know a lot of the restaurants around. This place has been the best for many years of our experience here. The menu written on a blackboard was not too big, but consists of a very good variety of simple and promising dishes. The food was wonderful from starters to deserts! Also the recommodation of the local wines was far beyond expectation. The chef and his staff were very much caring and gave us the feeling to be at home. This cosy place, not too big but perfect size was the perfect place to finish our holifays. We only can give our best rates and highly recommand this place to people who love the fine and honest cuisine. We are very much looking forward to come back soon!"
