Aquavit London - Carta

We had a wonderful dinner at Aquavit, and I loved absolutely everything we ordered. Plus the atmosphere! Thanks for the team serving us brilliantly and for four and a half hours! I will definitely visit again.

I only came here for a drink, but I loved the decor. Very Scandi with plenty of wood and high ceilings. Great location away from the chaos and tourist traps of Piccadilly. Service was friendly and efficient. I think I would like to eat here one day.

Slow but really friendly service. Extremely expensive with nice flavours but the duck was tough and no crispy skin (though they didn't charge me for this). Also the plating is straight out if the 70s. The fish dishes are sublime, so order the fish not the duck. Ver carta

A wonderful and nice super-scandinavian restaurant in London. The Swedish classics, with snaps and drinks that fits with the dishes. Book in advance, difficult to get a table during weekends. Strict, clean and wooden interior adds to the Scandinavian ambiance. Great food, good wine list and attentive staff.

We recently visited Aquavit for the second time, one of our top restaurants in London. My husband, a seafood enthusiast, thoroughly enjoyed sampling every dish on the menu. Personally, I was amazed by the Arctic bird nest dessert. Its unique combination of textures (crunchy and soft, hot and cold, sweet and bitter) made it a truly unforgettable treat.

I was pleasantly surprised by the meal I had at this restaurant. It opened my eyes to the sophistication of Swedish cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the overall experience, and I would definitely come back. I tried the smoked salmon with dill sauce, Swedish meatballs, and crepes for dessert, and all of them were delicious dishes that I would have a hard time not ordering again.

Honest Review; this isn’t a restaurant you should go out of your way for. Nothing you MUST try. Not sure how anyone could rate this food 4 or 5 stars. It’s simply not on par with other restaurants in this price range. If you are in the Piccadilly Leicester Square area (which is the worst area of central London) and need to avoid the tourist traps, this is a solid place to go. Quality food, tastes like home cooked food. Small portions, and that awful 15% service charge which is totally unjustified. Stop making customers pay for your staff. I was really looking forward to my trip to Aquavit, however it was probably one of the worst experiences I 've had in a restaurant. Firstly, my drink arrived in a lowball glass which was only 1/4 full and filled with ice (I ordered a negroni so I appreciate it 's a short drink, but definitely not that short, see photo . I then ordered the meatballs with lobster thinking it was £30, however when the bill came it was £51. The lobster was £30 extra, which was not clear from the wording (i.e. 'Swedish Meatballs served with 1/2 lobster for £30 ' . The wording should have been 'served with lobster for £51 ', seeing as the lobster extra was £9 more than the meal itself. The manager refused to do an... Ver carta
