"Could have gone so much better! I ordered one of the BBQ plates but as I don’t eat lamb and can’t even stand the flavour, I’d ask to take it of my plate, the lady said no problem and that they’d instead give chicken xishe on its place… when my plate arrives all looked delicious as the starters were delicious too. But when I tried the meat it all tasted like lamb and I’d know this because I can’t take its flavour). I told the lady serving our table and didn’t even request to replace anything but she comes back saying that the chef says it’s impossible that the meat tasted like lamb rude). Sure not taking the risk at that restaurant again.. not to mention that the table servant kept taking star out of the table when we had not even finished with the starters or anything yet.."

Amazing pre-Town match vegetarian meze. Haven't been here for ages, and will definitely be back again soon. We just had a selection of starters and nothing disappointed. The bread had a subtle flavour of charcoal from the grill that was gorgeous.

This has always been my favourite Turkish restaurant in Ipswich but it appears to have changed hands as on the last visit there were different staff and they would not serve alcohol. They also refused us tap water. The food was fine but I won't be going back. Ver carta

Visited most recently for a birthday dinner with family. The service was brilliant and the food was lovely too. The staff are friendly and make you feel really welcome. I have been here on several occasions and consistently the food and service is excellent. Highly recommend and will continue to return.

The restaurant offers a variety of delicious and tasty food. Their salads are crispy and varied, and the lamb and chicken dishes are fantastic and tender. The Moussaka is amazing. They were very accommodating for a family member with a dairy allergy, with homemade hummus packed separately to avoid any soggy dishes. The service was friendly and fast. We will definitely visit again next time we are near Ipswich. Thank you.

We placed a takeaway order at 7:35pm and received our food at 9:30pm, which was completely unacceptable. When we called the restaurant, they blamed the delay on football traffic, even though the game had ended 4.5 hours earlier. At 9pm, they admitted that our food had only just left the restaurant 5 minutes before. The restaurant is only 1.5 miles away from our house. We were very disappointed with the poor service and felt like we were given second-rate treatment despite paying a premium price. Ver carta

We had a great experience at the Turkish restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We have visited multiple times and have noticed that it has improved significantly. The average cost per person is very reasonable, ranging from £22.00 to £28.00. The main courses come with fresh Turkish bread, rice, and tasty salads, making the overall value excellent. A main course typically costs £14 to £18, but with all the extras included, it is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

Food was mediocre at best we were asked if we would like some bread and hummus While we wait for our food and we thought it was complimentary as in other turkish Restaurants so we said yes we were charged for it and they never told us that we would be charged for it 10 percent service charge was added to the bill After paying for the food our change was £4.90 And the waitress didn’t even bring our change even though we already paid 10 percent service charge for food that was cooked from frozen and not in any way fresh Felt ripped off Had better food at street food venues at less than a third of the price Never again

"Checking in to a hotel in an unfamiliar place, it is tempting to book one 's first evening meal in the hotel 's restaurant (unless, of course, one has had chance to research the alternatives beforehand . This may seem a safe option, but is often a mistake, as it was on my visit to Ipswich. Had I only known that a minute 's walk along the quayside would have taken me to Mariners, I should have eaten there twice rather than only once! A floating restaurant can often prove to be a bit of a gimmick, but Mariners seemed to get good reviews so, on night two, I gave it a try. A beautifully restored and maintained Dutch customs gunboat from 1900, with gleaming brass and polished woodwork, the restaurant offers a limited, but well-constructed, menu to satisfy most tastes. Being aboard a boat, I opted for seafood, and was not disappointed. There being an R in the month , mussels were a good choice for my starter, followed by a seafood skewer , presented with just enough theatre to be amusing but not over the top. Not fine dining , perhaps, but well-prepared, nicely presented and very satisfying dishes at reasonable prices. A limited wine list, perhaps a bit on the pricey side, but the Picpoul de Pinet proved to be an excellent accompaniment without over-stressing the credit card. Service struck just the right balance between politeness and friendliness. My fellow diners embraced the whole age spectrum (I was by far the oldest! weighted perhaps towards the younger end, the common factor being that everyone (myself included was clearly enjoying themself. There are many other dining venues along the Ipswich quayside that my brief visit did not allow me to try, but Mariners can be recommended as a safe and enjoyable bet."
