"We were just plain tired of prowling for fine dining and eating scenes in Hamburg. The food stalls around the Mercado in Altona (adjacent to the Altona Hofbauhaus) offer a wide selection of inexpensive ethnic food that compares to most of what we foraged for over the past week. It took a bit of decision making to settle on Asiahung, but perhaps it was their display of food choices that made us settle there. One of us opted for a green curry served over chicken and steamed vegetables with a side of rice (beef and tofu are also available); another the KungPao Chicken served over noodles. For just over 5 Euros each, we found ourselves something we could have paid triple for elsewhere. Just when we thought we might have to settle for tea or water or a soft drink, I found enough German to ask if there was beer. Sure enough, a large sharable lager came out of the fridge, and this meal was almost perfect. What made it perfect was the chop sticks that appeared when we asked for them. It's hard to find enough vegetables when travelling, and here we found a generous serving of fresh veggies. Comfort food on another level."
