Auberge à la Bonne Idée

I 'd say this is traditional French cooking à la Paul Bocuse--a bit rich for my taste (especially the generous scallop appetizer), but very flavorful and enjoyable. Pleasant, rustic dining room with some modern touches. Good service.

it was an exciting dinner in la bonne idea. we had eaten here a few years ago and the quality of eating was on the hill. the new chef has pumped the life in this charming restaurant and each cure was delicious, artistic and creatiw. in any case a trip worth to go to this restaurant.

This is the restaurant of a very nice hotel, in an tiny, but wonderful little French village. They have a Michelin star, and it tasted well earned. Great (raw) tuna as starter, and beautiful duck as main course. Plus all sort of little Mise a Bouchers, to give the chef some time to prepare stuff. A wine menu to drool over.

This michelin star did not bring the food and ambiance i expect from a one star restaurant. My experience is similar as some earlier reports in tripadvisor. Too traditional, not enough phantasy, and a bit boring interior. Many (too many?)waiters, in general very formal in...contact with the guest. Price wise a michelin star but the rest is staying behind.

just arrived, 18 o'clock, on a warm day after a long trip and asked if I could buy a bottle of rosé to drink on the cool and shaded terrace. the lady who remembered the load was very unforeseen; everything is problematic. anyway, because I. very quiet anyway, I was served a glass rosé that was two years old from a mediocre 10 euro bottle (rose should be from the last year) but awfully expensive 60 euro! as there is so wonderful warm weather, I asked if I could have dinner on the terrace, but again no. there are too many weep (I have not seen) etc. So I'll have to sweat it out for dinner later. in addition, the waiter is brutal. that could be fantastic, but I'm not waiting for this review so...

This is an excellent restaurant deserving of its Michelin star in an out of the way location. We had the tasting menu which was beautifully served and paired with their selection of very quaffable wines- in a reasonable quantity to boot! Stopped overnight en-route back...to Calais. The top suite (170 euros) was quaint and charming though the hot water did take a little time to come through! Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Recommended and you can have a very nice walk in the woods very close to the hotel. the Abbey, close by and within strolling distance is also well worth a visit. The village was not on my Sat-Nav so I routed through Pierrefonds, about 7 kilometres to the East. Pie...

Deep in the woods you find a small street where the Auberge stands proudly covered in ivy, a romantic setting for lunch that warmed our senses, as innovative dishes lifted up French classics, elevating them to inspirational new taste combinations, like the frog legs (with...tomato in teriaki, coriander seeds and pink pepper, tarragon and deep-fried kale) or the venison (encrusted and with carrots). The seafood dishes were also boldly paired with unexpected tastes: passion fruit accompanied the scallops and the absolutely divine raw seriola (yellowfin) fish hamachi was served with lemon puree and mandarin vinaigrette. I booked ende september 2021 a table for 2 in this gastronomic restaurant. I invited my 94-year-old oma who never went to a Michelin star restaurant! the food and service were incredible! she always said it feels like in one. dream . the creativity of each individual schirrs was amazing. I personally appreciated the variety of textures/layers of the aromes. I went after lunch in her garden behind the restaurant and had luck meeting the chef there that I thank for the fantastic experience! I promised to come back to the place on a summer day to eat outside! take the time to go after lunch (5 minutes from the restaurant) to the abbey. and if they are even more adventurous to plan for a longer...

We spent two nights in the suite of our choice and two dinners in the hotel. This was our third visit to this small hotel with the outsized restaurant. Previously we had spent only one night here, largely because it was booked up. This year...we were able to book the 2 nights. We like to hike in the forest and it is really amazing to find all the trails. This year we had hoped to do the hike to Pierrfonds, have lunch, visit the castle and hike back. Threats of lightning and thunder persuaded us to to the majority of that days hiking around the hotel and then to drive tp Pierrefondsa for the lunch and castle visit.
