"We had a lovely evening meal at Auberge du Coteau a short minutes drive from our Hotel Le Manassès in the neighbouring village of Curtil-Vergy. A beautiful July evening – temps of C we were seated on the terrasse – our...table somewhat setback from the road so sadly we only had glimpses of the distant rolling vineyards. Our aperitif of delicious Cremant de Bourgogne was surprising served in cognac glasses but no matter – the Cremant was crisp and sparking. I opted for the menu and started with escargots au beurre persille – succulent and flavoursome. My wife’s entrée of foie gras maison was excellent – two generous slices served with a superb onion confit. We both requested our viandes grillees as à point – my bavette and my wife’s magret de canard – and disappointing both were slightly over cooked and less ‘rosé’ than we prefer – but no matter – the meat was excellent served with homemade frites. We finished with my tarte de prunes which was homemade and excellent -served with real crème. We ordered a delightful bottle of Hautes Cotes de Nuits as the perfect companion to our meal. Our final bill of was absolute value for the delicious culinary offering. Service was efficient and friendly – the restaurant was packed – the evening warm and sultry – a perfect Bourguignon séjour. The Auberge has the aspect of an Alpine chalet – so we look forward to re-visiting in winter when the traditional open log-fire would make a spectacular backdrop. Highly recommended."

Steak cooked on an open log fire traditional Burgundy fare.. Delicious food, good service and a brilliant atmosphere in a restaurant largely used by locals.

Went there with my grandson and French friends (based upon recommendation by our French friends). Was not disappointed, everything was fine. The meals, the wine, the service. Longing to go back to beautiful Bourgogne. Ver carta

Stopped in this restaurant for a lunch break during a Burgundy wine tour. Seemed to be filled with locals and workers from the area. Language proved to be no barrier. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch, with wine. Strongly recommend.

Very big meal with excellent meat! It's quite cheap considering how much food you have in your plate. Even for kids, it's cheap and good, with big plates and good ice cream. The mayonnaise and whipped cream are homemade. Excellent!

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. Cosy (good heat from the fire) and rustic restaurant in the beautiful Haute-Côte de Nuit serving fantastic food in generous portions house terrine is lovely as was the Entre-Côte Steak. Crème Brûlée excellent and so too was...the chocolate mousse. Highly recommended. Ver carta

Well this restaurant has a big open fire place, to even cook on it so not only for show off. They make grilled meat of course good meat indeed, but the restaurant also serves some other very good dishes. Their potato pie is...simply stunning b.t.w. and best we found so far in the whole of France. We loved the environment, service is second to none and the prices are reasonable. So we recommend this place to everybody who wants to spend a relaxing, romantic time.

This is the sort of food you read about in guides to travelling in France but so rarely see these days. From the whole terrine put on the table for you to slice, through the giant jar of gherkins, the large jambon Persille, the whole...cheeses for you to cut from... and not forgetting the whole Cote de boeuf for two, cooked on a wood fire, so tender and cooked as you like it, not as the chef dictates... all I can say is we're going back. Good wines on a list rich in Hautes Cotes treasures. All in rather basic surroundings, but with an honesty that extends through the faultless service.
