We enjoyed the kitchen as well as the kindness and atmosphere. So... we came back an hour later because we forgot our papers...

Very nice restaurant, generous cuisine, there is foie gras with jammed salad. Affordable prices, was a beautiful covered terrace on the edge of the stream. The owners are adorable. Good atmosphere.

Five of us representing 3 countries dined here the last night of our week together at a gite down the road. It was a splendid evening, helped by the friendly and lively server/co-owner Cathy. The high point of the meal was probably the Garbure, a soup that is a local specialty. And the wine list, though small, had some great choices. I even got to try a red Bearn wine from a producer I had hoped to visit but never did.

I emailed Cathy for a reservation on fridaynight. She replied quickly. Cathy is amazing, her English is as good as our French so we met each other half way and got by perfectly. I remembered the soup as a bit salty but it was amazing again, read my earlier review of July 2016). The rest of the menu €26) was good as wel. The chocolate mouse is to die for made of dark chocolate). The childrensmenu’s are adaptable €10) and the choiche of wines is amazing. All in all we spent €99 and left a €10 tip which isn’t usual in France) for a family of five. We’ll be back when the children can behave themselves better and won’t be a nuisance for the other guests. So probably in about 14 years. Ver carta

Arrived at 7 pm, we were seated immediately at the covered terras next to the river. The waitress informed us that the service would commence at 7.30 pm but we got the apperitieves and the menu 's earlier. Both ordered the menu Le Tucq and for two of the three children (8, 4 and 2 years old) the menu enfants. Honest, non-pretentious food. The soup Bearnais is an 'Erlebnis ', a hearty workers soup. An entrecote served in a way you really are able to enjoy the meat and the desserts are great as well. They 've got offroad parking and a small childrens playground. We dined here on a Sunday night. I had sent an email earlier in the day and this was replied to promptly. Always a good start. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 children. The restaurant was quiet but the hosts Kathy and her young helper made us feel very welcome. Particular attention was spent on the children. Kathy encouraging them to order in French. The food was simply cooked and presented. As mentioned in previous reviews the Garbure was delicious and we could easily have devoured the pot but for the need to keep some room for the rest of the meal. We stopped in after 8pm on a Thursday. The 2 of us were the only ones there to dine. A vast, multicourse meal for 25 E is the best deal I have seen anywhere. Good wine and beer, but we had drank much over the week and went with lipton tea. I would have paid 15 euros just for the starter, a wonderful soup with ham and veg. A huge portion for 2. I had 3 bowls, my date 2, and still some was sent back. Rustic bread and butter are served along with the soup. I cannot say enough about Cathy, our hostess.
