Avel Zo - Carta

My 14 years old son wanted to have a pizza and the hotel recommended Avel Zo. Very good pizza and pancakes. Not expensive and good service.

We visited Avel Zo whilst on holiday and found a great local pizzeria serving a selection of local dishes and pizzas. Catered well for families and very friendly staff and lovely food. Pizzas were great as was the locally sourced cassolette. Will be going back before we leave. Superb! Ver carta

We have eaten here several times and I have always enjoyed the pizzas. My daughter speaks highly of the crepes! Nice people and good value for money. They also have a set meal most lunchtimes and you can eat out in the garden in the summer. It is advisable to book at weekends as they can get very full, also on market days.

Part of the reason we went to this Restaurant was for the frites maison but we told they weren't available that lunchtime. Our meals were disappointing, more mushrooms than chicken in the chicken dish and overall very average food. We were still eating around 2pm and it was clear that we were out staying our welcome. No dessert or coffee offered. We took the children for ice cream elsewhere. Won't be returning.

We chose from a wide range of pizzas and crêpes. We loved the “Savoyarde” pizza at 12.50€ (reblochon cheese, lardons, crême fraîche, potatoes, onions) inspired by the Alpine dish “tartiflette” and the dessert crêpe “Boulou Pok” at 7.50€ (Breton galette, ice cream and caramel). Avel Zo is a local favorite, with a friendly dining room and welcoming staff. If you’re going on a busy night, call them to reserve. Avel Zo is easy to find, across the street from the church. After returning late one evening, we were looking for some nice and easy food. I remembered this place from an earlier visit. Despite being late we were offered a table and the four of us - middle aged couple and couple in their early 20's - enjoyed some really good crepes. Both the non sweet and sweet were delicious. Service was friendly and fast. When you feel for it, try the cider. I had some and found it delicious. We enjoyed this place and food and will definitely revisit when the occasion presents itself.

The food was generally okay and the pizzas very good but our meal was once again spoilt by the poor lunchtime service. Initially the service had been welcoming and quick BUT it slowed down by 1.30pm. No-one came to clear our plates for ages and when they did we weren't offered a dessert menu or asked if we'd like to order coffee. We'd returned thinking maybe it had been a one off but this was the exact same experience as last time. It felt uncomfortable, like they were closing, they were making up the tables around us ready for the evening and we were ignored. Once again we paid and left without dessert or coffee.

Most people only know French pancake as sweet but there is another type, the buckwheat pancake, crêpe au sarrasin, which is savoury...and here, you have a variety of savoury pancakes, as well as the sweet types, to suit your taste.We arrived just after 1pm, and the restaurant was not crowded. We ordered a bottle of local cider to start, and 2 complète pancakes 1 with sausage and the other with "andouille" , 1 trout pancake and a simple one with egg and sausage.A complète means having an egg, cheese and ham in your pancake.One of my French friends is a regular and of course knows this to be good.
