"Riva is the best restaurant in Hale. This was my second visit and I was just as impressed as the first time, if not more! Last night (Thursday evening) we enjoyed amazing food and live music from a talented singer. Our group started with a snack board and then ordered beef Wellington, steak pie, fish and chips, and fillet steak - all of which were rated 10/10 by everyone. The service from the owner, a lovely gentleman, was outstanding. If you're looking for high-quality, unique food in Hale, Riva is the place to go!"

"Delicious brunch! I could have tried everything on the menu. I ran from Stretford to meet my friends, and we sat outside in the back area, which was a perfect spot to cool down. I ordered a variety of drinks, including pressed apple juice and delicious black coffee. For my meal, I had a chocolate croissant followed by a Cobb salad, which had the perfect balance, and the dressing tied everything together beautifully. Other members of the group enjoyed the breakfast, burritos, and pancakes. Everyone left feeling satisfied and happy. The owners and waitstaff were incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It was a wonderful way to spend part of the weekend!"

"As fellow independent business owners and owners of a coffee shop ourselves, we have a massive amount of respect for Ciro! When we entered the cafe it was busy, but we were still greeted straight away and invited to take a seat. Ciro took our order of 2 lattes and returned in no time at all with them. As he placed them on the table he apologised for the wait, as he was on his own in the cafe due to staff illness (there wasn't any wait and he was very attentive) We did want 2 full English breakfasts but decided against it, since Ciro was running the cafe on his own and didn't want to burden him by going in to the kitchen ect. Ciro insisted that he made our breakfasts and it would be no trouble for him to do. After a very short wait our breakfasts arrived and they looked and tasted fantastic!! Very delicious! We were both so impressed with your work ethic, pride in your business and respect you have for your customers Ciro. Everything was perfect, and you single-handedly made sure our visit was perfect. Huge respect and well done. We'll be sure to return and recommend!"

"I had high hopes for this restaurant as it appeared elegant inside. However, it was not very busy, and now I understand why. While the food tasted good, the portions were small and overpriced. For instance, six small prawns were £11, much to my surprise. My companion and I spent £50 on food but still needed to eat elsewhere afterwards due to the lack of food. The manager was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed, and other staff members were not very attentive. Our server struggled with English and I had to wait for the manager to take my order, even though it was just reading items off the menu. Additionally, a teenage boy at the bar kept changing the music volume, making it difficult to talk. We were also required to pay a £5 service charge, which felt unfair given the poor service. I doubt the restaurant will survive long with this level of operation, which is a shame as a good Japanese restaurant would thrive in Hale. As shown in my photo, the sushi cost £10."
